Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Sunday Brunch to anyone. (Edited for spelling mistakes)
GOOD THINGS: they let us sit outside and helped us move inside when it started to rain, the restaurant including the toilets were very clean, the service was friendly and tried (but did not succeed) to be fast and helpful. In the price of 65CHF there are 2 warm drinks and 1 glass of Prosecco, as well as unlimited juice and water included. The coffee was good and the fresh juice was great. The style of the interior was quite oriental and something I haven‘t seen before, which I thought was nice.
BAD THINGS: They got our warm drinks order wrong. Despite only 3 tables being full (at the start of our brunch) a staff of 3 people managed to take over 15minutes to get us some tea. The food was not good. One dish was so overly salted I had to spit it on my plate (I do not remember the dish name, but it looked like stuffed vegetables of some sort). The Zopf was the worst one I ever had at a buffet. I am aware this is an oriental breakfast and Zopf is a Swiss thing, but why offer it if you buy it frozen (that‘s what it tasted like)? In general the bread options were extremely disappointing. I wanted to have some flatbread of some sort for my hummus etc, but they offered cheap baguette that tasted like it was from a gas station shop. And who eats Swiss/German bread with oriental dishes? That makes no sense and takes away from the experience. There was one salad (aubergine and pomegranate) that was actually delicious, and the fresh fruit offered was also ok. But I tried ALL DISHES and MOST I COULD HARDLY FINISH. There was one that looked like falafel but tasted more like feta cheese in a ball, but it was so hard and so dry, both me and my friend could not finish. I really wanted to like the food but it just was not good and we had to grab some sandwiches someplace else after our brunch because we did not find enough dishes at the buffet we could finish to satisfy our hunger (let alone our cravings for good food). The staff was really trying, but it was so annoying that they kept asking if we needed anything, just read the room, if we are deep in coversation and our coffee cups are full, why bother us repeatedly? And then when we wanted to pay we made eye contact and tried to wave repeatedly and they just ignored us. Overall not good service, and terrible food. Their labels on the food also weren‘t helpful for my friend who is vegetarian, as she wasnt sure if some dishes had meat. It shouldnt be that hard to label meat/ animal products/ lactose/ gluten on your dishes. Yes, you can ask the staff, but why not label everything nowadays that most people have some dietary restrictions. Overall I really don‘t...
Read moreWe ordered chicken Sharhat Dajaj and Fish Grillplate. Chicken was served with mashed potatoes, it was juicy and would have been delicious, but the souce was too greasy. I wasn't able to enjoy it in the end. Also, more spicy then I expected. Judging by the name of the second dish I expected a fresh grilled fish, but it was all deep fried and very heavy. Dorade was plain and basically tasteless. The salmon a bit better, but still deep fried which kills its natural flavour in my opinion. Shrimps were very nice, I wish I could have ordered shrimps only. Last but not least, the waiting time. We waited 15min to be seated, another 15 min to order and about 40min to be served afterwards. Based on my experience, I do...
