The Alehouse is a laid back place that you can visit on a whim with good friends and colleagues. Ordering is done very quickly at the bar (payments are based on a tab system), where one can choose from a menu consisting of mostly burgers and ramen - which are pretty tasty. The staff are ever so friendly, and are happy to give you their suggestions. You really do feel welcome at the Alehouse.
Though the food is great, the highlight is most definitely the large array of craft beers served on tap. At any given moment the Alehouse has over ten beers on tap from Switzerland and all over the world. There is always something for everyone, whether it is sour, bitter or dark/amber ales, with dependable lagers and a good few stouts and porters too. If in need for something else, the Alehouse offers three fridges of bottled beers.
If in the mood for some board games, the Alehouse offers over twenty boardgames from what I could tell. With the absence of any pressure from the waiting staff in terms of leaving or closing of business (did I say that they're laid back and friendly?), the board games can be appreciated on their large and comfortable wood tables designed for conversation and such games.
The Alehouse does not pretend to be an Irish pub, nor a place exclusively for craft beer snobs, nor a place reserved for self-proclaimed hipsters. It simply serves good craft beers on tap with tasty food, provides you with well lit and comfortable seatings and tables, and allows you to truly enjoy your evening...

Pros: -good food and especially the fries are really good. They are somehow triple fried. Burgers are also very good, including the vegetarian option. Ramen are not good at all. -always a good selection of swiss and international beers. -nice atmosphere and generally not too loud that you’ll be still able to talk to your friends. -super nice terrace! -in general friendly staff
Cons: -really bad ramen. At least if you are used to the good Japanese ones like I am. -staff usually doesn’t take the time to help you find the right beer. Therefore they are too busy tapping the tasters. -American hops are usually old and all other American beers are expensive. Wouldn’t go there for American beers.
Conclusion: If you are looking for some decent burgers and if you want to try some different beers that’s the right place to go. I added a picture with the...
Read moreTrendy bar that has an amazing beer offering. They have ~20 beers on tap of a wide variety. Every beer is completely different and they are from all over the world. The offerings are continuously changing, so every visit is a small adventure. The food is also quite good, mostly snacks and burgers, but also some smaller stuff for people that want something else. The only downside is that the beer is quite expensive (I think 7-15 CHF for one beer, most 0.3 or 0.25 L). I think it is becoming increasingly popular with the...
