I don't know what the other reviews are on about, but this place is infamous amongst he nearby university people as a generally awful place. Quiet place? Are you serious? There's 4 tramlines merging, and a high traffic road. With all the fart-cannons mounted on cars in Zurich, I'd rather sit next to a military air base if I were looking for 'quiet'. Have the other reviewers actually been there? As you browse their illegible menu, trying to hear yourself think amongst the rumble of tramwheels and 60HP 'tuned' VW's, you'll notice with mild amusement that they've skilfully managed to price themselves as a Michelin restaurant, while you're barely sitting on random 'furniture' (read: random objects) they found on the street last night. Offensive pricing policies are not the only tactic employed in the war against their own customers though. Prison guards are the icon of hospitality when compared to the clowns behind the counter here. Be sure to take the time to admire their reactions as you order something: they seem squarely offended at the thought of providing a service in exchange for your money.
The only redeeming quality of this place is the absolutely...
Read moreGood location, good ambience...kinda have that hipster vibe going on with live music on weekends as well but the prices of drinks especially beer (limited on IPA or other kinds) is crazy. I expect such price at a 6 star hotel bar if there's such a hotel. Also, the amount of wine they served for the price is a total turnoff for me..actually I felt embarrassed to have ordered wine (fml!!) and I guess for lot's of other patrons have felt the same too. The Kline management should revise the pricing and add more options. The university might be close by and it is little more on an uphill area. This does not justify the prices and drink options but actually it should be the other way (affordable drinks and better options) I will be visiting them randomly again in future and will definitely review again. Hope you keep that hipster vibe going on but not pretentious-wanna be kind of if you know...
Read moreOne of my favorite spots in Zurich which I've frequented for 10(!?) years now, this "little freedom" in the middle of the city feels like you're suddenly somewhere else.
The all-vegetarian food (e.g., plates of hummus/babaganoush/falafel and pita, or soup, or eintopf--the latter 2 dishes only in winter) is always fresh and tasty, while the creamy coffee is locally sourced and brewed with a fabulous machine! Cappuccinos are the perfect ratio of milk to coffee with yummy yogurt or gipfeli for breakfast/brunch.
In summer, the vibe is laid back, you can sit in the garden, they have live music many evenings, and the Aperol Spritze are very sparkly! In winter, they have gondolas you can sit in and a Swedish oven inside.
The staff are totally chill and friendly and the place is so colorful and relaxing. Walk from Central or HB, UZH or ETH in a few min.; can also take the...
