I had Vietnamese chicken fried noodles, Laya cake and Thai ice milk tea! The greeting hot tea was great but very hot to touch at the beginning. Vietnamese chicken fried noodles have always been my favourite dish because of the nicely textured pho with amazing taste and the greatly cooked shredded chicken. The Thai milk tea was sweet and delicious as it should be. The Laya cake was gluey, tender and delectable. To sum up, in terms of service, it was fast because the meal came in about under 10 minutes. This is one of the Madam Jill's chain and it's great. This branch feels quite up-market compared to our usual in Gongguan but the prices are, I think, the same and very reasonable. Family favourites like crispy spring rolls to be wrapped in fresh lettuce, basil and mint with a typical dipping sauce, prawns on sugar cane, cold noodles with BBQ pork and a beef stew in an intense broth served with a fresh, hot baguette. We ordered 3 dishes: charbroiled pork vermicelli, the appetizer charbroiled beef meatballs and the stir fried Vietnamese rice noodle. We were very disappointed at all of them. The first two were not charbroiled at all. They were deep fried! Especially the meatballs were so oily, they were definitely not charbroiled. The vermicelli was supposed to be cold instead of warm.
