Book ing bar — Restaurant in Da'an District

I had high hopes for Book ing Bar Taipei, given its reputation and the intriguing concept. Unfortunately, the cocktail experience fell short of expectations.

The ambiance was cozy, with a literary-themed decor that initially drew me in. However, the cocktails themselves were a major letdown. Despite the creative names and descriptions on the menu, the drinks lacked balance and depth. My cocktail tasted overly sweet, masking any complexity or character the drink might have had. It seemed more like a sugary mix than a well-crafted cocktail.

Service was also a bit off. While the staff was friendly enough, there was little engagement or effort to tailor recommendations to our preferences. The bar was not particularly busy, yet the wait time for our drinks was longer than expected.

Overall, Book ing Bar has potential with its unique concept, but the execution on the cocktail front just wasn't there. For a place that seems to pride itself on mixology, the experience was disappointing. I hope they can refine their recipes and improve the overall quality...

Loved this place. Found it through a friend’s recommendation and decided to take a group of friends to celebrate the end of first week in Taiwan. Ambiance and music is very cozy and modern and the scent of the place is wonderful. Our server, Winnie, took her time to walk us through the menu, making suggestions that tailored to our preferences. She was also very attentive to our needs and often check up to see how our food and drinks were. I ordered the Chronicles of Narnia and it was very pleasant. Not too sweet of a drink and went down very smoothly— I enjoyed the jelly. We also ordered a side of popcorn chicken and it quite literally hits the spot! So flavorful and juicy. I think it was my most favorite thing from Book ing. Also, the bathroom is a must check out! It is so cozy and very instagrammable. Stumbled upon this gem, tried to enter thru the exit instead of the front door, but one of the bartenders very kindly led us the right way! Didn’t expect the BDSM menu, my friend and I had such a great laugh and it kicked off a night of wonderful conversation for us. They gave us free shots at the end of a really special wine concoction with three different levels of taste - initially it was fruity, then a bit bitter, and finally the aftertaste was Smokey sweet.
