as i'm re-watching Matrix Resurrections for the 5th or 6th time (just playing in the background or on a phone on HBO Go) & every time it has had the magical power to put me to sleep
& as NPH talks modal to Keanu i feel the same about hot pot places in taiwan -- how does one differentiate ?
aren't they all the same -- tw ice cream none too creamy a tea or a juice on tap unlimited rice 🍚 that ox 🐂 brand oyster sauce & chilies & garlic & scallions & occasionally soup
so what did i like about this place other than it was close to my stop ?
well i liked the stocky twins running front of house & back till mom showed up -- da boys had a jolly devil may care vibe & as i riced up i overhead : (mom or manager to chef -- but this seems a role any of 3 takes on)
so you like sitting outside huh ? -- to check out girls, right ?
& the chef admitted so & the other boy (man, friend or sibling) cracked up
the whole place warmed by their joviality
i had the kimchi pig 🐖 with egg 🥚 plenty of veggies per any hot pot place soup base ain't spicy just stock stock rice was stock turn the knob to middle for max heat then single flame very bottom of dial then off when you're down to dregs
a dad & son (from gym next door) buff & buffer came in & got plates of extra meat -- maybe that Paleo diet
couples came in -- seemingly at least 1 always orders same as i kimchi rules as Kpop rules
warm & happy welcome to all
ya know how Hemingway wrote of a clean well-lighted place ?
i think that's all a hot pot place needs be :
a clean well-lighted place warmed by a happy crew of people who like to have people dunk meat into soup & sauced in oyster
ice cream was better than average too
its location (& really it's all about convenience) recommends itself :
if you're close to beimen mrt or coming out of the Y underground shops from taipei main mrt then HoMe gets the job done all the way till near midnight -- nightly
& that gym next door is new & alright
i had my fill didn't have room for more ice cream the Ponytail tucked in hat fella watching gaming & variety show on his phone got up to pay round the same time
& one of the boys came round to cash -- mom had gone & when not serving or cooking the boys seem content to chill & chat
Good Buds Good Vibes
