Because I live in Tamsui, coming here often is not possible. I usually have to rent a hotel room and stay in the city so I can drink here and not drive my car. I've been to this bar probably 8 times before last night. I usually sit at a table near the wall and have 2 cocktails. Last night I came with my friend and it was a very mellow night at BB. The car area was not as crowded as usual,so we sat there. As a former bartender, I chose a unique cocktail like Dance in the Dark and then I decided to drink a vintage cocktail the Old Fashioned. DITD was amazing as I really love beer,so the beer foam was on point and the caramel chips gave your nose so essence as you drank the cocktail. The Old Fashioned was good, but I think they should ask the customer if they like pomelo first. For me,pomelo is a bitter, flavorless fruit and brings nothing to an OF. But that's just my taste. Otherwise, everything was amazing. The bartender, Fred(which I feel he might actually be the barback in training for bartender) was really adorable. He's a cutie that can make tips for the rest of the bartenders. So they should let him make drinks and NOT wash glassware. This place is really great and I hope it returns...
Read moreWe dropped by Bitter Burro on a weekend without a reservation, and despite being full, the owner managed to accommodate our group. The bar is quite small, fitting maybe 15 people, and focuses on the cocktail craft.
There's a 600 NTD minimum per person on weekends, which translates to about 1.5 drinks each. The cocktails are all pretty unique - the bartenders use fresh ingredients and homemade bitters in a way that creates some unique flavor combinations.
Watching the bartenders work is really fun. They seem to take a personalized approach, crafting drinks that match individual preferences rather than sticking to a standard menu. The atmosphere is low-key and relaxed, good for those who prefer a spot to enjoy a well-made drink with friends.
If you're into craft cocktails and don't mind a tight space, Bitter Burro is worth checking out. It's not flashy, but the drinks are thoughtfully prepared and the...

From the moment you walk in, the joyful ambiance sets the tone, and you’re welcomed by an atmosphere filled with youthful energy—on my visit, they were even holding a theater rehearsal, which added a lively and creative vibe to the whole experience.
The food at Bitter Burro is simply delicious. The carne tacos were packed with authentic flavors, perfectly seasoned and incredibly satisfying. I also tried the carne salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and expertly balanced—a great choice if you want something lighter but equally tasty.
Overall, Bitter Burro is a gem. It combines the heart of Mexican cuisine with an inviting, fun environment that’s unique in Taiwan. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy great food with a side of...
