Duan Chun Zhen — Restaurant in Datong District

We decided to visit this place based on a recommendation from two friends we met in Taiwan. Finding the location was a real challenge—it took us almost an hour to track it down. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major disappointment.

The noodles we ordered came with extremely tough meat. The white connective tissue inside the meat hadn’t broken down at all, clearly showing it wasn’t cooked properly. Since we had already ordered, we tried to eat a little, but ended up leaving most of it—especially the noodles.

Of course, it depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re into tough meat and a very casual, even shabby environment, maybe this place could work for you. But if you’re looking for good-quality meat without overpaying, there are definitely better options around.

I suspect the friends who recommended this place haven’t eaten here in a long time. The place seems to have lost its quality, and the hygiene standards were definitely lacking. Honestly, if I end up getting sick, I’ll be back here to update this review.

Solid beef noodle soup. Overall - 4.5 stars

Noodles: 5 stars Thick and chewy the way i like them

Soup 4.5 stars Good tasting, full bodied, rich flavorful broth (yeah, the kind that will probably leave you petty thirsty later. lol)

Meat: 4.2 stars not a great deal of meat - 2 pieces. One was excellent - tender, moist and good balance of meat and soft tendon. The 2nd poece was a little tougher, pulling my rating down.

Overall, Ineas cery pleased and this may become my go-to place when I'm in or around the Taipei main...

I love eating at this store in Tainan but here the service in this store is absolutely horrible, enough to make the food taste bad. The people who work here do not know how to make customers happy.
