Apparently, this cafe fills up quickly as a hot spot for ladies brunch, so it got a bit noisy soon after opening at 11:30. But it was still a nice ambiance, with hanging plants and warm lighting throughout.
On this second visit, I ended up ordering the Miss V again, but this time with the cream cheese frosting cinnamon roll flavor (I think the caramelized walnut is still the best). My friend said the icing sugar was too sweet for her tastes, and the bacon “had a potent pig taste.” The rolls are more dry and bread-like than a Cinnabon, but the flavor is still delicious. The homemade yogurt and granola is special with Job’s tears (薏仁) on the bottom. I’d also recommend the spicy grilled cheese if you’d like to try a sandwich instead.
The staff is friendly, quite standard for a cafe that is mostly self-serve. There’s a self-serve cart for water, utensils and condiments, and 回收area to return your dishes to...
Read morewanted to test out this café for a while because it looked so cute and the cakes were eying me out lol. However, I was kind of deceived … we came in more than 30 minutes before the closing, for a quick coffee break but there was no cafe because they turned off the coffee machines they said. There was no other drink than the instant drinks or teas that needed no preparation. There was almost no options to order from the menu… my friend ordered a tea (tea bag tea …) and it arrived more than 20 minutes later after we all finished our cakes. This was because the staff was closing up at the same time and didn’t have time to make one cup of tea. The 10% service fee we paid felt like a joke : we couldn’t sit where we wanted to, we got our orders so late and we were told to leave as soon as it was 7:00 … would sadly not come back even though the cakes were quite good. I’ve had much better experiences in...
Read moreOHHHH MY GAWWDDDTTT. I’ve been in Taiwan for over a month and the HEAVEN I felt in my mouth eating purely salty smoked salmon. It’s been SOOOO incredibly hard for me to find food that is plainly salted rather than a mix of salt and sweet.
I got a smoked salmon brunch plate and subbed the simit for sourdough and my friend got the shakshuka which came with a really delicious jalapeño green sauce. That sauce which was also SOOOO delicious because it had the level of kick I expect from a nice hot sauce.
Anyway the food we got was absolutely DELICIOUS. The sourdough was also sooo chewy and delicious. I love this food and will definitely be coming back when I need a break from (also incredibly delicious but generally sweet)...
