I stayed here for 5 nights with my family and I don’t have a lot of positive things to share about this hotel. Our stay here wasn’t bad, but we expected a lot more for the price we paid for this hotel.||Let’s first talk about the hotel’s building. It is located in an old building near Zhongshan MRT station. By just looking at the building, you won’t be able to guess that the hotel is actually inside that building. No proper signs outside the building. You need to go to the fifth floor by using the elevator to reach the hotel’s reception area for check-in. Nothing special to talk about the reception area well. Pretty basic even for a 3 star hotel. ||Now let’s talk about the room. We booked a standard double room and it was too tiny to keep our stuff and move. Even the bathing area with small bathtub wasn’t adequate. Room was too dark and we really wished there were more lights in the room. If you already made up your mind to stay in this hotel, then I would say go for the room that has a window. It will help to bring some natural light into your room. They do not even provide basic complimentary amenities like a dental kit on the name of saving the environment which doesn’t seem right to me. We tried the breakfast as well and it wasn’t worth it. Choices were really limited. So, please do not bother booking a room with the breakfast included.||Hotel’s location and the staff are the only things we liked about this hotel. The hotel is located around 150 meters away from the Zhongshan MRT station (use exit 3) and the Taipei Main station is also around 1km away which makes it really convenient to travel from one place to another. Hotel staff is also very efficient and helpful. That’s being said, we still feel that we could have booked a lot nicer hotel than this one for the price we paid for this one. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommended this...
Read moreI would give the hotel a rating of 3.5, which rounds up to 4.
A decent hotel at a great location. The plus points for the hotel is it's location, free laundry and free breakfast. The family room was also sufficiently spacious for 4 pax. Customer service was good. When we reported to the front door on the toilet door that was stuck easily, they also expeditiously got the door repaired within the same day. Another plus point is that they provide free drinking water at every lift lobby. Wifi provided was also decent. Lastly, i like it that they have ample charging points around the bed to charge and browse our phones while lying on the bed.
The not so good point is that the room temperature was pretty cold at around 18 degrees. We need to wear a jacket to go to bed. We were not able to adjust the room temperature upwards as we were told it was a centralised Aircon. instead we off the Aircon instead but even then, it was pretty cold. The breakfast spread was ok but i thought the quality in terms of how well it's cooked could be improved. Lastly, it would be convenient to the guests if they could improve the quality of the dryers (not really that hot) as well as increase the number of washing machine and dryers...
Read moreGreat service! It is clean and has all the basic things you need. It is also cheaper than most of the BnB in Taiwan. Front desk staff are friendly and the room is very quiet for after-work good night's sleep. I was worried about the security when I first arrived. However, the building will automatically open the elevator on 8th floor (Lobby) before you head to your room floor. The staff will greet you even though you are inside the elevator.
Minor details are the floor is carpet which clutters some dust and stan on it, WiFi is slow (not able to open camera for video call), shampoo and body wash is very basic, so I brought my own while staying for 10 days.
Another complaint is that they don't have a point system or membership for people visiting every month.
One last thing, Linsen has bigger room space and the bathroom is bigger too. However, the location is not ideal and far from the metro station. I will still choose Nanxi even though it is a smaller room (standard Japanese...
