Very good taiwanese traditional food. Simple, well done, and healthy. The braised pork is delicious, very balanced flavor, and quite a large portion. It’s came with some sad pieces of broccoli for green color on the plate. I wish it had been a different vegetable or none at all. The rice is good, each grain is separate and cooked well. As I am a foreigner, the waiter told me how much lard is recommended to add to the rice, which was very friendly of him. I wish the side dishes were a bit bigger because they were very good, especially the mushrooms. I also had the salted egg shrimp which was fried perfectly and came very hot. The flavor was very good, but the salted egg sauce was a bit drying to the mouth so it would’ve been nice with another additional sauce to even it out. I liked the chunks of juicy radish or whatever was among the shrimp. I had hot plum juice as well which was very nice, not too much sugar added to cover the sour flavor. Read moreOutstanding. We wanted to go to this restaurant for lunch but unfortunately it was already fully booked until 5pm30. We took the 6pm option and don't regret it. The restaurant was half empty and it reigned a serene atmosphere. Perfect for appreciating the ambiance and delicious food in an old house completely refurbished. The meal combines classic Taiwanese cooking with fresh locals products. We tried the braised pork and the tender chicken sets. All the dishes were fresh, combined different textures, flavors while balancing the all set. The ensemble was not too salty, neither too greasy or sweet. The beverages were also worth it. The dragon - white peach lemonade was fresh and homemade. One of my favorite beverages in Eastern Asia. I recommend the tender chicken set as it is the specialty of the house and the chicken is perfectly cooked with an...
Read moreComfortable environment, decent price, and delicious food.
Price: 380nt for a meal is not too pricey especially because the tray included 3 side dishes, soup, rice, and the meat I ordered.
Food: The food was flavorful and filling. An additional bowl of rice costs 30nt. There are meat options as well as vegetarian options. The side dishes as well as the soup stays the same for every order, only the main side dish is the one I was able to choose (ex: meatball, beef, fish, shrimp, taro, etc) Make sure you add the pigs oil into your rice; it helps add a lot of flavor!!
Environment: The environment is really nice, quiet, and calm. The buildings were all renovated as an old house style. The street across from this restaurant also has the same style, so it's definitely GREAT...
