I can recommend this place for the view from the balcony, but not necessarily for the service, which was initially brusque. If you do get a balcony seat (you may not be given a choice of which seat), you will enjoy a commanding view over the hills, as well as being able to look down over one of the main lantern-lit staircases used by tourists. We enjoyed the various styles of tea served here, all of which were served in teapots, and contained enough for 2 to 2 and a half cups. I mentioned the service earlier...the business-like feel (the opposite of warm or cosy) is perhaps understandable considering that during my brief visit multiple tour groups entered, ate, and left the restaurant in a short space of time, so staff had to be incredibly efficient in managing the restaurant. Do note that the spend per person...

It's really a spoiler to our trip to jiufen. We left right after because it's also so packed with people everywhere and motorcycles...
