JiuFen ShanHaiGuan Tea House — Restaurant in New Taipei

TLDR: horrible service, waiter was yelling and rude and insulting us under her breath and out loud.

-Service was extremely slow, -Parts of the menu is lying (beware that on the pages where it says these food items come with a free drink, that it doesn't come with a free drink. We ordered 4 items off of that page but were forced to pay for drinks separately in the end.) -When we finally got the food, it wasn't great. (We especially do not recommend the toast items) -Super expensive prices for Taiwan

-One middle aged lady came to us afterwards and told us that she's going to cancel 2 of our meal items because the kitchen was out of those meal item. We said okay. Right as we finished all the other meals and were getting up to leave, the server came with that cancelled meal item. We said, that meal item was already cancelled, and she yelled at us that we ordered this meal item and that we have to take it. She then continued yelling until she left. We went downstairs to pay, while saying that we refuse to pay for that one meal item. She continued to yell at us that we have to pay for it, until another person (her boss maybe?) told her to just cancel it and move on, whereby she then cancelled it but continued to insult us under her breath until the very end. Horrible service.

Disappointed by the Racist Treatment

I recently had a troubling experience at your establishment. When I tried to enter (despite seeing many empty tables), one of the staff members, who was wearing glasses, informed me with a smile that they couldn’t seat me as a solo diner. However, just a few minutes later, I noticed another customer, who was white, leaving the restaurant after dining alone. When I approached the same staff member again to inquire about a table, he suddenly allowed me in after noticing the other customer.

This experience felt distinctly racist and left me feeling unwelcome. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, and that steps are taken to educate and train your staff to treat all customers equally and with respect. If this individual no longer works there, it might be...

The food was great I'll start with that. The soup dumplings were great and the sauce they came with was even better. The view from the seats on the edge were wonderful but the windows need a good washing. The wait was terrible though. Ordered 2 plates and waited 55 minutes. The restaurant had no more than 10 people in at once and we had to bring attention to them about the wait. There was little acknowledgement about the wait and it really soured the experience. Probably great normally but...
