Xin Fa Ting Shaved Ice — Restaurant in Shilin District

It’s child hood memories! I remember my mom took me there while I was a little kid. ( well that’s almost 30 years ago) and we constantly went back to have shaved ice when we were around Shi-lin area.

I’ve been abroad for over 10 years, this time came back to check in to taste that child hood memory after mom passed away. We stood in line in about 20-30 mins, not too long. Once you get in, you can see elders eating shaved ice inside ( now you now it’s local people’s memory)

My friend and I ordered mango one. Yea it’s the mango season you can’t go wrong with it! For $150 you get one mango shaved ice. We shared it. That hot summer craving was instantly fixed. My family used to ordered peanuts one ( they are so good, but this time we didn’t order it)

The interior design some parts remained the same but the wall paper got changed. Cleaning wise… hmmm still have rooms for improvement.

Strolling to Shilin night market after long time not being here, after rating several snacks and lot of dishes, this freakin hot weather make me really thirsty and shaving ice is the perfect solution. Ordered 3 types of ice, mulberry shaving ice, tapioca shaving ice and fresh mango shaving ice. Three of them having the right amount of sweetness, and just melt within second in my mouth. Mango is really fresh but kinda sour for me. Boba size is pretty small but still got the chewy texture at the end, and the mulberry i think was the winner aming those three.
