I arrived at the restaurant at 7 in the evening, which seems like a pretty reasonable time for dinner, but I was told that they had run out of the ribeye, New York strip, rice, broccoli, AND the country fried steak. The only reasonable thing to order on the menu was the sirloin, which was what I got.
The server was really nice; he repeatedly asked me if I wanted more bread rolls or peanuts. He was a very hospitable person who clearly enjoyed his job despite not having to work hard for tips like in the States.
The bread rolls were just out of the oven and were nice and hot. The chili was seasoned just right and was very hearty, and the side of mashed potatoes were also nice.
The most disappointing thing on the plate was, surprisingly, the steak itself! I ordered it medium-rare, got one that is about medium (which was perfectly fine, and the server even asked me to check the steak's doneness). But it was extremely chewy and flavorless. It was definitely seasoned with enough salt, but I feel like something was missing. It was almost a struggle to finish the whole thing.
In short, underwhelming steak but excellent service and sides. The food was VERY overpriced (NTD 900 for a piece of steak and two sides!) and the...
Read moreWhen my friends and I are craving steak, we'll come to this Texas Roadhouse location. This location isn't as busy as their other location in Xinyi district so it's much easier to get a last minute reservation here. I love their warm bread and cinnamon butter and I always end up eating too much bread. The last time here, the staff didn't write anything down when taking our order. I don't remember if it was always like this when I went in the past. They did get a couple of our drinks wrong but quickly got us the correct drinks when we told them. Their steaks are excellent and their ribs are good too. This is one of the few places in Taipei where I can get good chili. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're craving some Western food...
Read moreThe food is definitely good here. Been to other branches plenty of times but this was by far the worst experience. Made a reservation for dinner at 7.30pm, unfortunately they were sold out of all chicken and seafood dishes. They literally just had steak.. We were told to come earlier by the waitress.. As a franchise, I'm assuming they should have more stock.. the worst part was that we were told they were out of the seafood bucket but the guy who brought us our steak, gave the table behind us the seafood bucket... the people who came after us got the stuff we were told they were out of.. Even though it was their problem, they didn't even let us change a dish or mix dishes.. which I felt should have been done as it was...
