Came here for burgers and some of their brewery alcohol, and I would say that this place definitely serves the vibe check. The staff here were really cool and chill; they would strike up conversations with you and also check on how you were doing with the food. I did see a few Westerners here, which kind of gave validation that their burgers were good. 👌
We had 2 of their best-selling burgers, which I can't remember the names of. I have to say, these were solid burgers. Though the patties were not as thick as I thought they would be, they were very tender, and sauces that goes on it was quite the pairing! The buns were soft yet slightly crisp on the outside, and I really enjoyed this very much.
For the sides that went along with it, we switched out their fries for the garlic butter wedges, and also their grilled broccoli. I have to say, the grilled broccoli was not up to standards; it was more like steamed broccoli with crispy bits—very moist and lacking char. I found this quite difficult to consume, and I did not like it at all.😫
They say that if you are here, you should sit upstairs at the open outdoor terrace. However, it's summertime, and there were lots of mosquitoes, and I did not want to risk that 🥲. After eating, we went upstairs to take a look, and it definitely was such a beautiful view with an open sky. There's even a toilet on that level as well to wash your hands or use the restroom. I would say that this place is so comforting and has so much character.
The staff here were really friendly as well, and I often saw them helping to protect customers' drinks by placing a napkin over the mouth of the glass in case they turned their backs or went away for an outside smoke. I found that to be very considerate and touching, coming from a girl who loves...

Taihu Brewing has earned its place as my all-time favorite beer establishment in Taiwan, not just for the incredible variety and quality of its beers, but because of the amazing people who make the experience unforgettable.
The management sets the tone with their passion, vision, and attention to detail. It is clear that every decision, from curating new releases to creating a welcoming environment, is made with both craft and community in mind. They have built more than a brewery. They have built a gathering place where beer lovers feel at home.
Equally impressive is the staff. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic, they go out of their way to make each visit special. Whether it is recommending a new hazy IPA, explaining the story behind a seasonal brew, or simply offering a warm welcome, they consistently create a personal connection that keeps me coming back.
For me, Taihu Brewing is the perfect blend of world-class beer, visionary leadership, and a team that truly cares. It is not just about what is in the glass. It is about the people behind it. That is what makes Taihu stand apart, and why it will always be...
Read moreGood beer with a rotating variety of drinks, but the atmosphere and food set it apart.
You can try the beer before you order it, which is really cool and a great way to try something new. Their beers rotate fairly regularly as many are seasonal. My favorites were the kumquat (seasonal), Long Island Iced Beer (I believe this is is a permanent staple), and the strawberry cider (I know, not a beer)
The rooftop is awesome, a great place to have a drink especially when (as it usually is) the interior downstairs is full. There are lots of tables, it's quiet, and before COVID they had a massive jenga set up there. Also the kitchen is up there and you can orderly food directly instead of venturing back downstairs.
Speaking food, they have the best burger of all the places I've tried in Taichung (all the expat recommended and top rated burger places). Hell, it ranks as one of the better burgers I've had in my entire life, and I'm...
