We visited this izakaya for post-dinner drinks, and it was our first time here as tourists. We were especially pleased with the service, particularly from a staff member named Tim. He was incredibly jolly and even squatted down to our level to give us a clearer, more detailed explanation of the menu, which made us feel very welcome! 🥺💓
We ordered a good variety of their hand-grilled yakitori sticks. Two very skilled chefs behind the counter handled our orders, and the sticks were grilled to perfection. Our favourites were the ones with mentaiko and the pork yakitori sticks, which were umami rich and tender. They all had a delicious charcoal flavour that really enhanced the yakitori experience!
For drinks, I thoroughly enjoyed the Jim Beam mango highball—it was one of my favourites here. That was followed by a large beer that helped wash everything down. I really liked the setup and design of the place; it gives off a very warm yet classy vibe. ☺️
The only thing I didn't particularly enjoy was the NT$599 bluefin tuna. We found it to be rather mediocre and not very fatty, in my opinion. This was the only slight disappointment compared to the excellent service and fantastic yakitori sticks.
They also offer a Monday to Thursday NT$399 free-flow limited alcohol drinks special. It's a great deal if you can drink more than 3 to get the best value out of it. We were quite full this time, but we definitely want to come back on a weekday to try it. I've saved this place in my list and absolutely plan to return.
Thank you, Tim, and everyone else, for the excellent service! We hope to come back...
Read moreThe warm welcome from the staff set the tone for the entire evening. Their friendly and attentive service made us feel right at home. One of the standout features of Kirin Yakitori is its fantastic selection of organic chicken and spare parts. The chicken dishes were outstanding, with flavour and tenderness that's hard to find elsewhere. But don't worry if chicken isn't your thing; they also offer a variety of other meats, ensuring there's something for everyone. The drink menu was equally impressive, with many options to complement your meal. Whether you're a fan of sake, craft beers, or creative cocktails, you'll find something to quench your thirst and enhance your dining experience. If you're a fan of seafood, Kirin Yakitori won't disappoint. The oysters and BBQ squid were exceptionally fresh, and their quality was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to using the finest...

The Pros: The meat skewers were juicy and well prepared (especially the chicken). We enjoyed the grilled fish as well. They offer a very wide range of dishes for an Izakaya. The staff was very friendly, English speaking and helpful in many ways. The interior is cozy and inviting.
The Cons: While the meat is of high quality, the prices are quite high as per Taiwan standards, so if you only care about the food, there are higher value options around the city. There are almost no parking...
