Il Volo Pizza — Restaurant in Taichung

(original review 2016) This place doesn't understand customer service...

Won't go back again! After years of eating here I've had enough of the bad service. It is pretty authentic Italian pizza and not too expensive. BUT, I went again the other day to get takeout for the first time. I simply asked for some chili in a small bag to go and they told me it was free for dine in but I had to pay extra as a takeaway customer.

The waitress was very nice and apologetic, but it doesn't make up for the owners stinginess. There are other places in this city with better service and...

Based on all the great reviews, I was hoping this would be a place that has poor vibe but great food! Unfortunately, the food is exactly how the place feels… very average.

It’s a shame because the crust is quite good from the wood burning pizza oven, but the ingredients were very tasteless. Overall, not a very positive experience given how run down the place feels coupled with the rather...

Update - One of the few restaurants in the city that has actually improved over the years.

While I personally am not crazy about this place, my kids like their pizza. The service is lacking but if you don't compare or expect this to be some authentic Italian food, the flavor is more than passable. The oven pizzas are decently made, as well as their lasagna. On the other hand, avoid...
