Caffè Firenze — Restaurant in Taichung

Overall, was not impressed by the food nor the experience. Food wise, the appetizer was yogurt and fruits, that’s about it. The soup of the day-pumpkin soup, tastes bland. It tastes like blended pumpkin dumped inside hot water without much seasoning. As for the entree, credits due where credits due, the meat was delicious, anything else, not so much. The white wine that comes with the course tastes pretty cheap as well.

Experience wise, the owner was using his phone at the bar the whole time without checking in on the customers. There were some random staff walking in and out of the kitchen without dressing in uniform and bringing food cluelessly. Maybe i was wrong but i was expecting a decent Italian dining experience. However, after the night it makes you wonder if they take this business...

My partner and I loved this place, coming from Italy we can be quite picky when it comes to Italian food in a foreign country. Had both the burrata and the selection of cheese and affettati ( cold meat ) served with some season fruit, waitress helped us choosing a nice red wine from southern Italy to match our meals. We also had two pasta , tagliatelle with a white and a red sauce , both deserved a thumb up! Guys!!! Seriously? Except the waitress who was nice and professional and knew something was wrong, everything is a joke, your page says you open at 10 but you actually open at 11:30, basically I had to wait 40 min outside, yes I tried to call to make reservation 3 times but nobody picked up the phone . Then when I arrived , literally half of your menu wasn’t available, only pasta, let’s talk about the pasta, very expensive and honestly not that special.
