Just off the main road, it would be easy to miss this narrow street packed with fun street art. The Chinese characters for the street are 動漫彩繪巷 and this sometimes gets translated as Cartoon Lane. Both are accurate descriptions of this tiny space with street art depicting characters including Super Mario, Lilo & Stitch, Popeye, Mr Bean, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and Tweetie Pie, Angry Birds as well as Japanese anime including One Piece and Tororo.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find much information about the artists or the story behind Animation Alley, even after attempting to translate online articles written in Chinese, so if anyone is able to shed any light on it, I’d be delighted to hear from you! The best I could find is that it all started with one man’s One Piece painting, which neighbours liked, and they encouraged him to paint more and more, and other...
Read moreTaichung is pretty quiet. This spot seems to be a place designed to attract tourists for photos. There are a variety of cut murals and paintings on old buildings here.
There are also some local cafes and dessert spots nearby. Not busy at all though. If you’re in the city, it may be worth a quick stop just to snap some photos.
If you’re a fan if some anime, there are definitely a few murals for you.
The paintings are very well done, but don’t expect too much. The alley is rather short and isn’t too much to see. You can definitely see the whole thing in under 10 minutes.
I would suggest going here for a few pics, then chill at a nearby dessert cafe when taking a break before heading to a night market in the heart of the city.
Cute murals, but one quick visit for maybe 30 minutes will be more than enough to see...

Personally enjoyed it much more than the Museum of Comics (free but so far apart).
The Rider was introduced to it by a friend as I mentioned I wanna try look at the Museum of Comics.
What I found was not just a wall there few alleys of anime of quite a few genres, too.
From Doraemon to DragonBall Z to Naruto/ Boruto.
I know they are updated as they include the newest characters from anime too. I was jittery as a child as it shows they're enthusiasm hasn't dimmed with time.
I asked the shop next door more about it. She said it was just bunch of brothers from motorcycle repair shop next door. They're now into their 40's! Talk about commitment.
The Rider loved it: Can't wait to see if grows again and what might have.
Please more info on these murals please...
