Interesting place to experience one time, likely wouldn’t go back. We took the elevator on street level down to get to Carton King. Downstairs, the restaurant is very dimly lit. The front entrance to the restaurant is between a large cardboard jeep and dinosaur. You’ll need to make sure kids are careful as they cross the tracks. Besides the restaurant, there’s a store inside as well with items made out of paper and nostalgic toys.
For every $200 NT you spend on food and drinks at the restaurant, you get a train ticket. Both adults and kids can ride the train, you just need a ticket for each person. The train starts across from the front entrance of the restaurant and runs through the restaurant.
Food was okay. I ordered the kids meal for the kids but they didn’t seem to care for it. I thought my chicken meal was okay. Drinks and utensils were served in cute cardboard cars, trains, alligators.
Service was okay. Seemed very understaffed because the same 2-3 people took orders, served food, ran the train and ran the retail store .. and they seemed stressed and even angry. I felt bad each time because I know they are also busy with other things but my kids are also excited about their train ride. I started hesitating to ask for additional rides and instead waited for other families to ask first.
Overall, the service made the experience unpleasant but my kids enjoyed the...
Read moreThis is an interesting restaurant and a great place to bring kids! Our toddlers loved riding the train and all of the unique paper items... Plus they get to keep the ambulance & police car food boxes as souvenirs. I was expecting this to be JUST a novelty, but we were pleasantly surprised by the food. Good variety of choices with fresh veggies/salad and picky-toddler friendly options. Obviously not fine dining, but good food. I saw others comment about it not being clean, but I did not feel it was dirty at all. Probably cleaner than other restaurants. Actually... It felt cleaner...
Read moreReally overpriced food, the tables chairs and all the appliances everywhere in the restaurant where made of cardboard, and by the look of it, very dirty one, I guess there are not able to clean or spray any liquid on the cardboard to wipe it or clean it so it looked very filthy at the touch. Food was ok, but so expensive somehow. I really wish there was a 7-Eleven or a family mart within the museum around just to get the choice of...
