Donio Grill Steak — Restaurant in Taichung

Came here for my mom's birthday, give her many choice and she choose this place. We had the steak, the pork, the rice, sausage and the zucchini. Between the steak and pork, steak is better for the buck, it was tender and delicious, done very well. The rice was great as well. The zucchini, for the price I was kinda expecting a bigger plate, cheap in the States, maybe real expensive here in TW? The soup had a metal can tastes to it, the table next to me also made the same comments, avoid it if you can. Sausage has strong rosemary and thyme taste to it, but I am OK with it, if you are not a fan of rosemary kind of spice, don't order. Service was great, no complaints on that. We had a table of 4 but order only 2 set they were very nice given us 4 portions of desserts and on some of the appetizers. Thumb up...

I enjoyed the upscale atmosphere of this restaurant. very clean, modern, and European. well decorated. but still intimate. the service was pretty good and the servers did okay communicating with me in English. for what it is, the prices are reasonable by Americsn standards, when getting the prix fix meal. otherwise ordering a la carte would be too expensive in my opinion. the food seems high quality and tastefully done. I have no complaints about the good, even though I'm really a vegetarian whenever possible (this restaurant is not a good choice for vegetarians), and the desert was exceptionally good. . so, I probably should award the restaurant 5 stars for doing such a good job, but it's not really my...

I could tell that the server tried hard to make things right, but unfortunately, the dining experience and taste this time were disappointing, as I mentioned in my review. I truly appreciate the server's hard work they were very kind and friendly. However, I still feel strongly about the fact that the restaurant failed to inform customers in advance that the reserved dishes were not available. I had specifically noted this during the reservation. If the restaurant was unable to prepare the dishes on time, I would have appreciated a phone call to inform me in advance, so I could reschedule.
