Lulu's kitchen witch pumpkin house — Restaurant in Taichung

Hola everyone! Today I went to this cute restaurant that brought out the Halloween spirit in me. Yep that's right, trick or treat 👻. Amazing atmosphere with a great choice of decorations and lighting. It brings a cozy feeling as if I was in the middle of autumn. What makes the place even more welcoming was the amazing staff. Very attentive and friendly. When we had a question they would have an answer, very professional in every aspect. The host was very friendly and kind. From helping us book a table to thanking us for choosing their restaurant, what a wonderfulperson. Thank you, all of the staff, for giving us a great experience!

Now then, the food!!!! Yes my friends, the main reason why you clicked on this page on the first place. Is it good? Is it worth it? Should I try it? Yes...Yes...and YES. Absolutely one of the best places to get a pasta dish here in Taichung! I am lover of Italian food and my lord has this restaurant gone above and beyond my expectations. The main dish I ordered was the New Orleans Meatball Gratin with penne. An amazing dish packed with flavor and ingredients that tasted delicious and fresh. The meatballs were so tender and juicy, that I assume the chef must have handled them with love, like a newborn on Halloween. The dish is covered with melted cheese that warms the soul right up! Speaking of warming the soul, their signature pumpkin soup is worth a try. Creamy and thick with taste of pumpkin and bacon, who would've thought of a combining these two ingredients? But let me tell you it's genius and most importantly delicious! The restaurant offers sets, which can include a salad and soup and a dessert. Depending on which set you choose you'll have a chance on trying all 3. Try the fresh vegetable salad wich is accompanied by an amazing blueberry yogurt and peanut butter dip. (Which you can always ask for more dipping if you wish). Although, I wasn't able to try any of the desserts, (this time) I was able to try their appetizers. It was well portioned. Filled with crispy fries, golden potato wedges, cheesy mozzarella sticks, mouth watering chicken bites and so much more, it's worth giving a try my guys but be warned, don't fill up on it 😉!

This restaurant really deserves my 5 stars and I will definitely be coming back to try other dishes. I hope to have helped you make a decision on giving this place a try, you won't regret it! Take care and remember, eat, eat,...

Such a weird place. I'm giving it 3 stars because the severs were super nice, otherwise it would have been 1. This was our second time there, and both experiences were just about the same.

Like others have said, the service is ridiculous slow. About as bad as I've seen in my life. We waited 30 minutes just to be served our drinks, and then another 10 minutes after reminding them. How long does it take to pop the cap on a beer? Our total time in the place was about 2 hours. If you go for lunch, you might end up bumping into dinner time and need to start over.

Cost wasn't that bad. Pretty reasonable for a "theme" restaurant.

The food: Nothing special. Its very bland. I had the cajun graten. It had some nice tender meatballs, but its as if they forgot the seasoning. The cage was stale. The gelatin was also old because it had some skin on it.

The ice cream desert was pretty decent, but it had some stale marshmallows on top.

Its worth going to see the elaborate decorations, especially if you are looking for photos, its hard to beat. But you are paying for the decoration, not the food. I get the feeling this place is owned by some rich person that just has it as a hobby. There is no way they can be making enough money to support the overhead, based on the scant customers that were there. We ended up there because everything else was packed, but 90% of their tables were open. If they improved their efficiency, food taste, and management, this place...

food is not great (actually pretty bad) but it’s very cute inside. corn soup is the only good food (only food i would eat again and did not have a hard time swallowing) my cream chicken dish (supposedly highly recommended) was not cream, but instead water/soup?!?! pasta (spaghetti) was really soggy and not appetizing. i could not bring myself to finish it. salad in set meal is also sus. not really salad but more like a raw veggie platter with some tomato, cucumber, white crunchy vegetable, and sour baby corn (maybe pickled, maybe gone bad i can’t tell). It is served in a plate filled with ice cubes in the bottom which strange. it also comes with some dipping sauces like peanut and blueberry yogurt but i don’t know anyone that likes dipping corn in blueberry yogurt sauce. anyways, point is it’s not a salad at all so it is false advertising. also the pizza for was not really a pizza but a open face quesadilla with pumpkin sauce and not tomato?! the decoration is nice though; i like the teddy bears and the little pigs on the stairs. it really adds to the atmosphere! the bathroom is very large also and has some mickey mouse shrines on the way there as well as this dead cat on the floor statue thing. the staff are very nice and food also came out quite quickly which was very good. overall, this is a very very very unique restaurant experience that you will not get anywhere else…...
