Siang Hao Pâtisserie(檨艸）已改名ㄕㄜˉㄘㄠˇ — Restaurant in Taichung

Their crystal-styled cakes are gorgeous on the outside. The inside, however, is not as fine as the outside, which is a huge disappointment.

It is more like an American cake one would buy in a typical bakery (like 85°C) than a cake from a real pâtisserie. Layer and flavor balance are almost nonexistent. For me, the texture and flavor are boring, just sweet. I could barely finish half of the cake before I found it too sweet to continue. On the good side, the cake structure is moist, not dry. Children and teenagers might find it tasty while adults might find it too sweet.

I figured the cake is more suitable for camera than for serious foodies. It is pleasant to look at, but not so much to eat.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and stylish. The staff is friendly.

Given its price, I would not recommend it to any serious foodies. But it might still be a nice birthday cake for teenagers.

Overpriced dessert, good ambiance, clean and modern decor

It's really ig worthy with the decor and the desserts they offer... However for the price you pay, I do not recommend.

You have to pay at least a minimum of two drinks which is ridiculous when we already ordered a tea and a dessert

The yam latte was not good. The texture of the drink was weird and the glass straw didn't help. Aesthetically it looks pretty.

We ordered the watermelon dessert and it was so sour and looks pretty but tastes terrible.

The Earl grey was good and the staff will help you refill the tea.

It was a nice place to sit down and take pics.

One of the famous dessert place in Taichung. The signature dessert is rich and full of flavor. However, I think it lacks of the balance of the acidity.
