好男人酒窩 食事酒場 — Restaurant in Tainan

The Japanese sake bar vibes caught our eye mid-afternoon so we had to return later once they were open. The food menu is a mix of Japanese inspired and Taiwanese small bites -both meat and veggie- that the chef enjoys himself while drinking. They have beer on tap, and have a selection of umeshu and sake. We tried some pork skewers, thin sliced soy glazed pork belly, beef tongue, spiced edamame, and fried tempura.

They're very friendly and even made some suggestions when we asked for some bar recommendations. I’d originally wanted to try a specific Taiwanese hard liquor but they explained to me that it’s more of a buy-and-drink-at home kinda deal so most restaurants don’t offer it. (Indeed, you can find 高粱 at the convenience stores).
