柳隅茶舍 LiuYu Teahouse （Located in Underground Mall) — Restaurant in Wanhua District

The best traditional Taiwanese tea drinking experience I’ve ever had in all the years I’ve traveled to my mother’s homeland. Dégustation at its finest. Gin, the teahouse owner, enthusiastically shares her in depth knowledge of each tea along with the beautiful interwoven history of Taiwan. While the many varieties of oolong teas are what the island is known for, numerous other teas are available to try and are oh so decadent, especially with the little treats that are carefully prepared for pairing with each tea. Gin works closely with her tea farmer to present the very best of teas that are organically cultivated and processed in the most natural and traditional of methods. If you’re looking for a super special experience outside of the typical touristy attractions, this place is a must visit, at least once. Though, one visit to LiuYu Teahouse is simply not enough...there is always more to try. Thank you Gin for opening up my mind...

Going to different tea houses is my main hobby in Taiwan and this is by FAR my favorite. Gin speaks English, French, and Chinese, and she truly loves tea and meeting with people from all over the world.

Her tea tasting/education sessions are so much more reasonably priced than any other location I’ve been to, but you can also go to enjoy tea without reserving a session.

I recommend the oriental beauty tea, and the guifei. I also always purchase some dried fruit as well. Everything in that tea house is of the highest quality!

If you’re looking for souvenirs to bring home, definitely pick up some loose leaf or tea bags here. I cant say enough positive words about Gin and her business! If you get into longshan temple station, you can walk through the underground mall to the tea house without needing...

I had the great pleasure of working with Gin to purchase tea via long distance as I am based in the USA. It was the best experience. I got connected with her through a friend of mine, and Gin immediately made me feel like she and I were good friends. What a wonderful person to work with. She made excellent tea recommendations (they all have been so tasty). She spent time ensuring all of my questions were answered, and made sure the package would be delivered in a timely manner since it was a gift for my husband.
