Will you eat here?đŸ’© Taiwan is known for its themed restaurants - they have one dedicated to HELLO KITTY TOO! But this for sure has to be one of the WIERDEST things I’ve done in a while. THIS experience was less about the food, but more about the crazy amusement of it all. I never been to a restaurant which makes me go through soo many emotions at once. From feeling absurd, to funny, to being slightly disgusted - It was worth it! Not just the food but EVERYTHING here is toilet-themed. It’s fully decked out like a bathroom. From checkered tile covered walls, shower heads hanging around, and chairs that are, yep, actual toilets - they have nailed it all. I mean, who would’ve thought I’d be munching on my meal from plastic toilet bowls and sipping drinks from miniature urinals? And to top it off, they even served complimentary poop-shaped ice cream. I was very curious about the History of this restaurant so I did some research and what I found made me roll on the floor đŸ€Ł The idea sprung from a cartoon character named Dr. Slump, who “played with poop and swirled it with a stick” đŸ˜¶đŸ’© Inspired by this quirky character, the modern toilet restaurant was born. And hey, Stay tuned because I’m gonna roll out more stories from Taiwan that will make you wanna add it to your bucket list ✅ If you’re ever in Taiwan, trust me, you’ve gotta check out this place. It’s a dining experience like no other, and one you’ll be talking about for years to come! đŸ’© [TravelAmore, Travel stories, Travel storytelling, Travel experiences, Travel reels, Travelling, Travel, Travel creation, Taiwan, Taiwan food, Toilet restaurants]

I recently visited Modern Toilet Restaurant in Taipei, located in Ximending. Honestly, it was just okay. It used to be super hyped, but now it feels more like a novelty than a must visit spot. They open around 11 a.m., and my friend and I ended up ordering a lot probably too much for just the two of us! The portions are quite large, especially the pasta, so make sure to check the menu carefully before ordering. It’s definitely better for big groups who can share the food.We did have a small issue where they gave us the wrong order, but we didn’t ask for a refund since we felt bad for the staff. They did try to compensate by offering free ice cream, but we had already ordered their shaved ice dessert which, by the way, comes in a huge serving! The ambiance is quirky and themed, but it feels like it needs a bit of maintenance now. Some of the glass table tops were scratched, making it hard to see the designs underneath. It probably had more charm a few years ago.On a positive note, they do have Wi-Fi, which is a plus. Also, be sure to use Google Maps to find the location, it’s on the second floor and can be easy to miss.Overall, it’s fun for the experience, especially if you’ve never been, but I wouldn’t consider it a must-do if you’re short on time in Taipei.

Nothing speaks more of a novelty restaurant than the Modern Toilet Restaurant. Located in Ximending's busy alleys modern restaurant brings an exciting and fun twist to experiencing food in Taiwan. Toilet and Urinals scattered in the restaurants interiors may look repulsive to some but we have to understand the restaurant is sticking to its theme. The restaurant is big enough to accommodate plenty of seats in its 2nd and 3rd floor. While reservations is what I recommend because it's near Ximending, walk-ins are almost always accommodated. The Modern Toilet is a tourist spot for those who would like to just enjoy the theme either to eat heavy or just for casual dessert. There are plenty of options on their menu for kids and adults alike. The service is not particularly spectacular just average. The food is actually good but what brings it to life is the plating and presentations that are probably known to many but in the restrooms. Milk shakes served in male portable urinals, main dishes served in mini toilet bowls and ice cream that looks massive.. everything is enjoyable and fun. I highly recommend bringing family and friends to enjoy this restaurant.

Let me tell you, folks, if you're looking for a dining experience that's truly unique, then Modern Toilet Restaurant in Taipei is the place to be. We're talking about a restaurant where you sit on actual toilets (thankfully clean ones) and eat out of miniature toilet bowls. Yes, you read that right. We decided to celebrate my daughter's birthday here because, well, why not? She's at that age where anything remotely weird is considered cool. And let me tell you, this place is weird. First off, the decor is...interesting. Think bathroom tiles, shower heads, and yes, plenty of porcelain thrones. The food, surprisingly, is actually pretty good. I mean, who would have thought you could enjoy a delicious plate of spaghetti served in a toilet bowl? And the desserts? Oh boy, the desserts. Let's just say they're shaped like, well, let's just say they resemble something that comes out of a toilet. But hey, it's all part of the experience, right? The highlight of the night was definitely the "poo" ice cream. It's chocolate ice cream, swirled to look like, you guessed it, a pile of poo. My daughter thought it was the funniest thing ever. I have to admit, it was pretty amusing. Overall, Modern Toilet Restaurant is a must-try if you're in Taipei. It's a hilarious and unforgettable experience. Just don't expect to have a normal conversation while you're there. You'll be too busy laughing at the absurdity of it all. Pros: Unique and hilarious dining experience Surprisingly good food Instagram-worthy photos Cons: You might never look at a toilet the same way again The "poo" ice cream might haunt your dreams You'll probably spend the rest of the night...

Came here to eat with my girlfriend while we're on a date, we've been wanting to try eating here for some time.

We ordered the cream sauce pastas and mango shaved ice, the food came with soup as well as tea/americano which tastes ok, the pasta is kinda bland and a bit oily. Food is just a tad bit pricey but still somewhat reasonable. The portion of the shaved ice is bigger than I expected and it came with a generous amount of cubed mangoes which I think is the best item we ordered. The food came out quite slow even though there's barely any other customers.

Service is alright, the waiters and waitresses can speak English which I find very pleasant. However they're not very attentive to customers, it's a bit difficult to call them over since we sat at a blind spot right next to a wall, would be better if they walked around from time to time to check on cuztomers instead of just chatting between themselves.

The air conditioning is also not as cold as I'd like it to be. I actually work in a restaurant myself and the temperature I felt sitting down as a customer is the same as me running around as a waitress. No idea if it's because the restaurant has no doors to seal in the cold or if the aircon is not strong enough.

Overall, eating here as a one-time experience is fine but I don't see myself coming back. I think this establishment is just another...
