Response to owner: hi, the problem is not your policy of ordering 600NTD. The problem is that you consider lettuce a side dish...a plate of 3 pieces of lettuce. Not only do we not care about side dishes but if you understand how Korean bbq works then you would know that lettuce should be included when we order meat to grill. To use 3 pieces of lettuce for 2 orders of pork belly makes absolutely no sense. And FYI, your servers were barely able to communicate with us in English which caused confusion and we had hints of attitude from many different servers. I hope you understand and use this to improve moving forward, good luck.
Original: This was the worst Korean bbq experience I’ve ever had and I eat kbbq almost 1 a week. They expect you to order a certain price point per person in order to serve you. They gave us one dish of lettuce which had four pieces of lettuce for a table of 4, and we asked for more and they said no. They also said since we didn’t order the amount they expected they didn’t want to give us side dishes. Which makes no sense if they know kbbq. Overall, highly recommend not coming here and instead just...
Read moreWarning. You need to order a minimum of 600NTD or $20USD per person to get rice or side dishes (called "service" on their menu). It's in very fine print on the inside of their menu. My parents and I went for lunch and ordered 3 soups, a pancake and a bowl of noodles = $70USD. We were shocked when they plopped bowls of lukewarm soup in front of us and walked away. The staff struggled with English/Korean and didn't tell us when we were ordering. They also charge 10% service fee...total tourist trap. Food was mediocre if that.
Yes. This is Taiwan. They are serving what is "Korean food" to the public, tourist or not. Korean food without side dishes or rice is sacrilegious....even if you order a beer, it is Korean custom to give you (in the least) popcorn. So yes, while this is Taiwan, if they're promoting KOREAN food...the fine print should be...
Read moreLunch specials are an excellent deal. At roughly 440NT per person, the varied and good quality unlimited banchan ensures that one will leave with a full stomach and the food is remniscent of Korean American cousine. The meat quality is precooked which knocks off a star but the utensils and other materials makes this place worthy of enjoying with friends. Window seats are desirable as one gets a good view of the Taipei 101, and whimsical art featuring Disney classics redrawn in traditional Korean motifs. Most of the time I've eaten here, half the seats are empty which is a pity as the feast provided and service shown is great.
