I made a reservation the next day for duck for 2. They let me know it would be too much food but both of us LOVE duck so we figured we would try our best. It’s a lot of food especially when we did duck 3 way. First way is the crispy skin and pieces of meat for wraps which was delicious. The crispy skin with the tender and juicy meat wrapped up in sauce and scallion was bursting with flavor. Then they take small slivers of meat and stir fry with bean sprouts and lastly dice up the bones and sauté with ginger/basil sauce. Most places make a duck soup but the sauté was very fragrant and made me want to gnaw the meat clean off the bones. They watched us eat as much as we could and were impressed but we still took 2 of the duck 3 ways home. Our duck arrived after everything else. Not sure if that’s the reason, but the skin tasted rather greasy. The meat was very tender and juicy though. Ox tail and intestines were well received by this youngest table in the restaurant. The pan fried red bean paste dessert was not our favorite. The food is about 4 stars, but be aware that you will not be able to chat Instead you will have to shout at each other because the typical crowd here is typical mid aged working people that drink tons of alcohol and scream their conversations to the entire restaurant. Very nice authentic roasted duck restaurant. It was named Chuan Ju De, the same as the authentic one in Beijing but wasn’t related at all. They were asked to join the chain but rejected and changed to the name til now. The master will serve and peel the duck right next to you. The skin was so crunchy and greasy that it was first so tasty then you got fed up. If there was sth I can change I’d like them not to put the duck among the last they serve, as we had been fed with other dishes the time we got our duck.
