Made a reservation months in advance for lunch here on a weekday and was very impressed with the location on the 46th floor of breeze Xinyi with spectacular 101 views. You get assigned a table bases on your reservation order so you can't exactly request for a romantic table with a specific view. But even the sides without 101 has great views of Taipei city so you can't really go wrong. The buffet is kind of spread out so it takes a while to get food and come back to your table. Everything was a solid B+ but I think the quality and tastiness is not as good as Latest Recipe at the Le Meridien down the street. It does have Heineken beer on tap and several cocktails and a nice cafe with customizable coffee which is great. Lunch is not too rushed with 2.5 hours from 11:30-2pm. Afternoon tea is 2 hours and a bit cheaper. We were told that the difference between weekday lunch and afternoon tea is minimal, with the exception of the abalone congee and some kind of crab which I did not have either. Dinner has their famous seared scallops and some other good stuff and it is 4 hours so you can enjoy the sunset and the view with a nice cocktail. Of course credit cards are accepted. A weekday lunch for two is about $100 USD. It's kind of like a Vegas buffet but the view is worth more than the food. Nothing to complain about for the food, sashimi was satisfactory, handrolls were nice. Fries tempura was good but not as good as ShinYeh japanese buffet. Drinks were nice and the desserts were okay. The table side servixe for the souffle was nice but not necessary. Nothing really stood out except all the beef dishes were blah. (Maybe overcooked? Not good if youve had nice American steak before, maybe good for taiwan I don't know) InParadise is a mix of western, chinese, and japanese food so the variety is good if you like choices. Haagen daaz ice cream is good but trust me you won't have any stomach...
Read moreInn Paradise Buffet in Taipei offers an exceptional culinary experience, especially for fans of Chinese cuisine. The buffet boasts a delightful assortment of dishes, showcasing various cooking styles that cater to diverse tastes. The unlimited bar is a highlight, with a wide range of beers and cocktails. The Pandan-infused "Island Breeze" is particularly delicious. Adding to the charm, the restaurant provides stunning views of Taipei from all sides, creating a wonderful dining atmosphere.
A special mention goes to their 15-course vegetarian set meals, which you can request when making a reservation. This feature adds a thoughtful touch for vegetarian diners, offering a curated dining experience.
However, the customer service leaves much to be desired. From the start of our meal, we were repeatedly asked to pay the bill, making the experience quite uncomfortable. This intrusive approach is unlike the usual practice of settling the bill after the meal. Additionally, the food stations with popular dishes often had long queues, and the staff at these stations were occasionally rude when customers inquired about the dishes.
Overall, while the food and ambience at Inn Paradise are top-notch, the service could use significant improvement. If the service were more attentive and considerate, it would elevate the dining experience to match the quality of the food...
Read moreWe made a reservation for lunch 3wks prior to leaving New Zealand, were #17 on the list for a window seat for a view of Taipei 101 but there's no guarantee. On arrival on the 46th floor ,In paradise reception & waiting area has nice modern lighting. Upon being shown to our seats it would have been nice to be welcomed with a greeting & warm smile but weren't disappointed with having a great view of Taipei 101. Included in the price is alcoholic drinks & personal barista.I felt that some food stations took up to much space without much to offer, such as the soup station & the grill next to it. There's a good selection of higher end food such as lamb cutlet & abalone.Initially the queues waiting for food were busy but died down after about 1hr. Some favorite dishes included duck crepes tempura prawns, sushi , sashimi & the dessert selection was very good. The following day however we went to Brasserie at the Regent hotel, found the overall quality & variety to be...
