Home’s Thai Cuisine Fuxing N. Branch — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

This is a restaurant that I would not mind returning to eat.

The entrance is a bit claustrophobic but once I got past it, the place opens up nicely. The furnishing and color palette are contemporary yet infused with Thai influence. It is an attractive place to enjoy a meal.

Our party of four ordered six dishes, with most from the list of chef specialities. While no single dish stood out in particular, all had earned at least a three star rating in my book given the quality of the ingredients and the distinct Thai flavor. There are definitely areas for improvement, most notably in the lack of tenderness in the grilled pork and the less than ideal green curry.

Even with the food garnering less than four stars, I'm giving this place a four star rating on account of the atmosphere and service.

I'd try other dishes if and when I return. Who knows, I may be more favourably impressed during...

This is a Top 5 restaurant in Taipei for me! The service, the food, and ambience were top-notch. This was my second visit. We came in on a Saturday for lunch and were famished. We were quickly seated, and our food came within 5 minutes of ordering. We ordered the 3-person set (~800NTD per person), which fully satiated our cravings. The 8-course set included 1. Thai Shrimp Cakes 2. (Spicy Seafood Salad, which we swapped for Pad Thai) 3. Thai-style Grilled Pork 4. Spicy Fried Water Spinach with Shrimp Paste 5. Steamed Sea Bass with Lemon Sauce 6. A friend recommended this restaurant to me last year and this is now my favorite Thai restaurant in Taipei. Their shrimp pancake/pastry is amazing. I usually get the red curry, minced pork with chili and basil, and Chinese spinach. I sometimes will mix things up and get their crispy soft shelled crab or fried oysters.
