Night 'n Day Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Zhongshan District

I do not mind spending a lot of money in a bar in Taipei for delicious, savory cocktails. Cocktails and late night snacks and meal at this overrated, pretentious, hermetic, self-regarding, ungenerous bar were their lavish gifts for guests. I stopped by Night 'n Day Bar + Bistro on a weekend evening, not so crowded. And yet one of the staffs lied about the bar seats were fully booked (obviously they weren’t). Service was not attentive and was excruciatingly dreadful. Drinks were mediocre, bland, and absolutely “banal to the bone” with a savor that lingered like a dispiriting, murky lovelorn drunk, like ashes in my mouth and tasted as if your mouth had been used as the swab bin in an animal hospital. I found the atmosphere was unsettling and the ambiance was appalling, but above all, the staffs were extremely rude (they were lack of manners and they often secretly used and exchanged racial slurs aiming at foreign customers, as they assumed foreigners don’t speak or understand Mandarin). Furthermore, spending time here feels like an endless dystopian cacophony. The memory of the rest has been elided into one long, bland, watery compost that could barely incite flatulence. When compared to similar bars or bistros, Night 'n Day Bar + Bistro is their hollow echo, parroting back a faded, carbon-copied version that takes no risks and contributes little to Taipei’s dining and drinking scene dialogue. While there are many words I could use to describe Night 'n Day Bar + Bistro, I’m going to say only this: Night 'n Day Bar + Bistro is a bad, terrible place to spend your money and quality time. My husband and I are traveling, I found this place from a Google maps search and was not disappointed! We did not try the food because we had dinner else where but our server Cooper was fantastic with service. I suggest making a reservation because we were asked if we had one (we didn’t) but they were able to accommodate. We’re only here until January 2nd but I definitely want to come back before leaving.
