Ding Fu Lou Restaurant — Restaurant in Zhongzheng District

Very comfortable, local feel to this medium sized Resto. Second floor location, you need to look carefully. One main dining room with three family/biz side meeting rooms. The staff made us feel very much at home. Helped us to understand the menu (English version parallel to Chinese was right on). Wide variety of choices. Excellently prepared with just right seasonings, not over salted, cooked properly without over cooking. We especially enjoyed appetizers: crisp wood ear mushrooms, deep fried peanuts with “secret sauce” (great), cold squid with five flavor sauce. Entrees: It is worth ignoring the name to enjoy the super tasty “stinky tofu.” Shrimp with pea sprouts. Matsuzaka pork w water bamboo. All excellent. But go for the service....

The food pricing is on the high side. Restaurant look “expensive” but rundown.

We tried the variety of xiaolongbao. The regular flavour tasted the best. Will only come back for that one dish. Other flavours are a miss.

Tried the TWD220 per piece of crab xlb. Does not justify the price tag.

Truffle fried rice was nothing special, not very tasty. Leaves a lingering taste.

The staffs were loud while taking orders or serving. Do not sound pleasant or friendly. They do not have the nice din tai fung chili oil here.

Throughout the meal we only thought about the right price point and tasty meal that DTF...

This is an excellent restaurant offering a choice of tasty and delicious food. The cuisine is mostly from the eastern part of China, south of the Yangtze River.
