ORGANICYAM — Restaurant in Zhongzheng District

Have been here numerous times, and I still want to come back whenever I'm in Taipei. Definitely recommend lunch, as with afternoon tea you miss out on all of their delicious dishes. All that remains is the salad bar, bread and dessert bar, and the soups/rice and drinks.

The braised pork knuckles are TO DIE FOR. Lots of other yummy dishes, too, and definitely veg-friendly. Also recommend trying the fruit/veg smoothie they serve-sometimes you'll need to ask the staff to make some more and can even order for your table. The homemade yogurt is delicious with their fruit jam/jelly too!

If you can, make a reservation, or you'll probably be seated at a shared table or need to browse the kiosks selling organic products to take home or wander downstairs to some art galleries and workshops or the shops, museums, or botanical...

Unimpressed. We arrived tired and in need of an ice cream above all. But on sitting down were promptly moved on. "But we want to eat, too!" "You can't sit there (you'd bought your ice cream from another vendor: her table is there-") So we moved. Can we buy a drink then? "Not unless you eat with our food package" So we sat at our table with a bottle of soy milk from the ice cream lady, then left the place! Abrupt treatment and we certainly weren't going to eat there! A shame really: the building itself and trade exhibits on the lower floor are interesting, with a really beautiful art show "The World Tree" on one of the middle floors. So overall, worth a visit to this building, and not to miss the botanical...

The food was fresh but the presentation and taste was passable. I always hope that vegetarian food at vegetarian restaurants will be tasty and I'm often disappointed. The desserts were good and the tea was excellent. There service was passable. The buffet ran out of rice and bowls. There were no bowls at any of the stations. Earlier, when I went to get rice, the two rice machines were almost empty. No one was monitoring either of these. If I hadn't pointed it out, the rice machines would have remained empty.
