I had an absolutely delightful dining experience at Shishlik Pita x Kebab on a Friday night! From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was impressed by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant had interesting decorations that added to its charm, creating a cozy and relaxed ambiance.
The menu at Shishlik Pita x Kebab was diverse and offered a wide range of options, and I decided to try out several dishes to get a taste of their offerings. I ordered the Iranian Chicken Kebab, Falafels, Babaganoush, Pide, and a few other dishes. Each dish was prepared to perfection, and I could tell that the chef/owner put a lot of care and attention into their culinary creations.
The Iranian Chicken Kebab was a standout dish for me. The chicken was cooked to tender perfection, and the flavors were simply divine. The seasoning was spot-on, and the kebab had a lovely smoky aroma that made it even more tantalizing. The portion size was generous, and I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients used.
The Falafels were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, bursting with flavor. They were cooked to perfection and had just the right amount of spice. The Babaganoush was creamy and delicious, with a hint of smokiness that added a unique twist to this classic Mediterranean dish. The Pide, a Turkish-style pizza, was a delight as well. The crust was thin and crispy, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful.
Aside from the food, the service at Shishlik Pita x Kebab was exceptional. The chef/owner was friendly, courteous, and went out of their way to ensure that I had an enjoyable dining experience. The staff was attentive and prompt, making sure that my needs were met throughout my meal.
The seating at the restaurant was comfortable, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the layout and design of the dining area. It was evident that the restaurant took pride in creating a cozy and welcoming environment for their guests.
Overall, my experience at Shishlik Pita x Kebab was outstanding. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a fantastic dining experience with a diverse menu that showcases the flavors of the Middle East and Mediterranean. Whether you're a fan of kebabs, falafels, or other Middle Eastern cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. I will definitely be returning to Shishlik Pita x Kebab in the future, and I can't wait to try more of their delicious dishes. Read moreI stopped giving negative reviews because I think everyone is trying their best so I don't need to make it harder for them.
But then there are the rare exceptions where I feel it's just deceptive. Almost 2000 reviews and 4.6? You'll know the answer when you get seated: If you give a five star rating, you'll get a free dish...
I think the food is edible but faaaar from authentic and extremely salty, I drank 3 liters of water after the meal and still felt thirsty 🤣 The falafel is so big it resembles a massive meatball, due to that size it also is not crunchy at all, just a very filling mass.
The hummus doesn't taste right at all, but at least you know what it's supposed to be because it has the right color.
The baba ganoush is literally just a grilled eggplant which was not even cut, so I'm not sure how you are supposed to eat it, considering that there are also no knives provided.
The tajine looks more like... well, potato soup? The actual soup on the other hand is supposed to be pumpkin but tastes like it was made from instant powder.
The shrimp had an unpleasantly fishy smell as if they were not completely fresh. I guess my favorite dish was the salad which however was also nothing special.
I would give the food 2-3 stars, and I must say the service was not bad, but for the deceptive practice of buying five star reviews I'll give one star. Not...
Read moreThe food and the service were rather disappointing. We ordered the chicken testi kebab and the chicken Iranian kebab but they only had enough chicken for one of those orders and I changed my order to the beef testi kebab...I considered getting the lamb but decided on the beef instead because it’s easy to overcook the lamb and end up with dry, chewy meat and I thought I was going with a safer bet. I was wrong! The beef was dry and chewy and awful. The gravy it came in was decent but there was so little of it I couldn’t even get a few dabs of it on my lavash. The lavash was dry and tasteless. The chicken Iranian kebab was good but definitely not worth a return visit. The staff (owners?) were at the counter the whole time looking bored scrolling through their phones. We were told to take any table and they went back to their phones. I had to go get the menus for us. You have to go to the counter to order and go to the counter to pay and yet there’s a 10% service charge just for them to bring your meal to you. When I mentioned this, the service charge was waived. If you do go, I guess the safest bet would be to get the...
