Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I had our last dinner in Thailand after a 3 weeks travel through the country in this restaurant. I can say it was our worst experience when it comes to food.
Firstly, be aware that VAT (7%) and Service (10%) are not included in the price. This was mentioned in small letters in the menu (our bad that we didn’t see it), but it caught us by surprise because it was the only place out of the many many restaurants we went to during these 3 weeks that was like this. You really feel like they are just trying to rob more money out of their clients.
Also, you are paying 10% extra for service, but the service was basic at best. The server barely spoke English. And we spent a long time trying to get their attention because all servers were just chit chatting in the corner, completely ignoring the customer’s needs.
Now, to the food. It was mediocre: my boyfriend had the massaman curry… let me just say that later, in our flight back home, funnily enough the food was also massaman curry. He said the airplane one was better! I had the chicken stir fried. Which was ok, but it left me with a strong diarrhea (you can imagine how great my flight later was…).
So, top 3 worst food experiences in Thailand, and if you consider a quality/price ratio, definitely rock bottom.
To summarize: you are better off at the food stalls in nearby Chinatown - tastier...
Read moreThe place is a tourist trap. Plain and simple. Had the misfortune of coming here on the recommendation of a shopkeeper who I had just patronized (I think he was just being kind, and suggested where all the tourists go).
The service was abysmal. I stood at the entrance for a few minutes before anyone even made eye contact. Then was left to just stand there another 2 minutes before a grumpy waiter asked if I was eating or just getting a drink.
The place is done up nicely, I will give them that. It has a good mix of hipster vibes and also a more cosy, intimate setting upstairs. Unfortunately, that's about all the place has going for it.
The food was yet another big miss. Prices are not the most expensive, but for what you are paying, you would expect to get a proper serving size and not a portion that is smaller than a 7-11 instant meal. The flavour was average, probably what you would get in a Thai restaurant in a country outside of Thailand. The recipe has obviously been tailored to the majority tourist crowd, as evidenced by the lack of spice, salt, sweetness and acid that is characteristic of Thai cooking.
I usually try to avoid writing scathing reviews. But I feel like I must, when establishments like this have unjustified high ratings that mislead other Google users.
TLDR just go somewhere else. Unless maybe you're after some...

The menu is extensive and features beautifully presented Thai dishes. We particularly enjoyed the grilled river prawns and aromatic curries. The desserts, especially the New York cheesecake and Blueberry Oreo pie, were delightful and visually appealing.
