Was kway-ving for Nai Ek Roll Noodle ร้านก๋วยจั๊บนายเอ็ก (陳億粿條) on our first night in Bangkok but it was SO PACKED! Decided to return for breakfast to kickstart the day with their signature Kway Jub. Unlike the darker soy sauce broth in SG, their broth was clear & peppery like Teochew-style Bak Kut Teh or 猪杂汤 (pig organ soup). I enjoyed that the peppery taste wasn't overwhelming, more like a warm hug on a cold day. While the tightly coiled rice rolls were smooth and easy to scoop up with the spoon, the pork offal and crispy pork hard carried the dish. In particular, the pig stomach was tender & cleaned well without the off-putting offal stench.
We ordered another plate of their deep-fried crispy pork for 100 THB. Considering the price point, it's a very reasonable portion that is bang for your BAHT! Even when soaked in the peppery broth, it soaks up the hearty flavours of the broth while retaining the satisfying crunch that made us crave more in the first place. While leaner than the usual type of sio bak I would go for, the meat was not sinewy and flavorful.
The Pork Trotter Rice might not look aesthetically appealing, but it was a flavour bomb with the rich & soy sauce-heavy braising sauce permeating through the skin. Flavour-wise it's not the 死咸 type, as there's a bit of sweetness to balance out the saltier soy sauce taste. The meat was cooked till fork-tender & the tangy mustard greens/Hum Choy provided the much-needed flavour contrast. . 📍 Address: 442 ซอย 9 Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100,...

🌟 First day back in Bangkok, and we headed straight to Chinatown to immerse ourselves in the local culture. Our last stop of the day was the famous Nai Ek Roll Noodle—a Michelin-recognized restaurant that’s well-known for its signature roll noodles. We arrived around 11 PM, and despite the late hour, there was still a long queue. Fortunately, the turnaround was quick, with each table clearing in about 20-30 minutes.
🍲 We tried their iconic Roll Noodles Soup, and it did not disappoint! The broth was rich and peppery, while the roll noodles had a unique texture that complemented the flavorful ingredients. Even though the restaurant was hot and lacked air-conditioning, the taste made it all worthwhile. The crispy deep-fried pork belly is also a must-try—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, it’s no wonder this place draws crowds even late into the night.
📸 The atmosphere is bustling and vibrant, a perfect spot to experience authentic street food vibes in Bangkok’s Chinatown. The casual, unpretentious setting adds to its charm, making it a great spot for those looking to try something truly local.
🌆 I would definitely give Nai Ek Roll Noodle a 5/5! Whether it’s your first visit or a return trip, this place should be on your must-try list in Bangkok. I know I’ll be back next time and will make sure to order...

It's very busy at 12 noon, you will have to wait in line to be seated. Been going for several years.
Update
This place is becoming a victim of their own success. It's difficult to get a spot to eat and the last time the soup wasn't as flavorful as it was in the past. I would like to add the following observation yesterday I saw a group of people from China eating at the restaurant. I would like to remind those travelers to Thailand or any city, you should not be putting your bones on the table when eating, Thai's and other people do not do this in a restaurant. Thai's were looking and the young woman who cleaned up the table just shock her head. This is a disgusting 🤢 habit I have seen from individuals from China and Vietnam. It's not health to put something that was in your own mouth on a table other people will eat at afterwards.
Update: the restaurant is now super busy. So if you want to eat expect a wait. The food is still good but the soup doesn't have the richness it had before it became popular. I almost wish they would open a second location to thin out the crowd. The crispy pork was great as were the ribs. I noticed people don't tip the staff who are working so hard to keep things working efficiently, 10 or 20 bahts would be nice to show...
