The hotel was easy to get to from the MRT station and was located right next to the 7-11. Checkin was easy and the lobby is a very nice area to lounge in.|| The Room was ok sized, the bed took up much of it however. They have a safe in the closet as well as an emergency flashlight and bathrobes and even an umbrella you can take on your outings around town.|| At first it's a bit odd how to get things to work, this is because after you put your key card in the slot for power, the main control panels for lights and such are hidden behind the pillows in the bed, this is also where the charge ports are located as well and the "Do Not Disturb" sign. The room can get pretty warm and especially since you need the card to turn on the AC, coming back from being outside you would have to restart it which takes time to cool down the room each time. The "Do Not Disturb" being electronic, also works only when the card is in the slot, meaning if you leave for the day, you have to have maid service come in even if you don't need it or want it (told the front desk, and they said they would put a note not to have my room made up daily, but they always did). Kind of a waste of washing and such when I don't need new towels or change of sheets on a daily basis.|| The Air conditioner was minimal, and didn't really have much power to it. I ended up having to get staff to fix the hair dryer that sparked when turned on and they also checked the AC and switched out the dirty filter which did help a little, but it was still hard to get the room cool.|| There is a small fridge sort of thing in the room, but not a real fridge, it's a cooler, so it doesn't really get that cold which is unfortunate.|| The windows were a bit odd as they looked out to another set of windows with a large gap between them. So the room windows were dirty, but the exterior windows were as well making it hard to see anything by looking outside. There are also interior rooms you can book that don't even have windows.|| Bathroom was fine, there's a bit of a step up to get into it, so you need to watch your feet each time so you don't trip or stub your toe. It was clean, daily amenities lots of towels and the shower which I had no issues with.|| There is laundry on Floor 9 with several washers and dryers and you can get change for that at the front desk. I think it was 100bht for washing and another 100bht for drying in coins. My washer was not working properly as it would reset during the wash and as it was spin drying the clothes, it would then re-wash the items and add more time automatically on it which was odd. There was a phone to call the front desk there, but they told me they would send someone up, but they never came.|| There is a rooftop pool that has amazing views of the entire city and a bar up there as well where drinks can be paid by cash, card, or billed to your room. There was advertisements of restaurants there, but one was completely empty (a Chinese one) and not sure if the other was open or not either.|| Great location, close to the MRT station as well as not far from the River Express (Ratchawong). In the heart of Chinatown so it's very busy outside the hotel all the time, especially when the market vendors are outside with food which was several days a week, but not everyday.|| Other than a few little issues, it was good to be close to trainsit and China town like this and a...
Read moreBest location for those who want to experience Bangkok's Chinatown (Yaowalat)! It's only a block away from the MRT station and right in front of the walking street that turns into life evening through night. A couple of massages salons are open for long hours, perfect to kick back and relax after a long day. 7-Eleven is next door for your convenience store needs.
You can book activities at the hotel. Translators for English and Spanish (and possibly other languages) are available. I loved that the hotel has water bottle refilling stations to reduce plastic waste. Very happy for this amenity as one of the biggest hassles for travelers is purchasing drinking water.
I booked a room with no windows, which was actually great because the night life goes on late into the night. We were able to explore the walking street when we wanted and turn in with no light pollution when we were done.
The room is good, with the main downside being the hard mattress. The king-size mattress was two twin beds put together, so the middle was quite uncomfortable. After staying at a few places, I learned that this type of mattress may be the standard; however, those used to a standard Western-styled spring mattress may wake up with a sore back. The sleeping condition would be improved a lot if there were a mattress topper. Also, the walls are paper thin, providing no sound insulation. We often woke up between 4-6am due to children yelling in the halls or the hallway phone going off. Please do not use the hallway phone in the early morning if no one is there to answer it!
This hotel has a bit of room for improvement (I almost forgot to mention that I had my first experience getting stuck in an elevator here), but at the price point and location, you can't be too critical.
Pros: location, rainfall shower, water refill station Cons: mattress, rooftop bar closes too early (before 23:00), poor...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for over 5 weeks this past year and I truly enjoyed it. The location is unmatched and affords instant access to all the culinary delights of chinatown. The street vendors and a plethora of Michelin rated restaurants are literally at your doorstep. If ur a foodie u will not regret staying here.
The staff is incredible. They are patient and friendly. I initially made a booking mistake on agoda. After agoda was unable to resolve my issue, I reached out to the hotel to correct the error. They accommodated me quickly and happily. I was greeted everyday with a smile. In my 5 weeks here i did not see a single instance of rudeness or impatience. Truly, a pleasant stay.
The rooftop pool and bar are a nice touch with amazing views of the skyline and river. Perfect for relaxing in the evening breeze after a hot day exploring the city.
The Hotel itself is modern, albeit a little dated. My only gripe is the walls can be a bit thin if u have loud neighbors. This only happened on 2 of the nights I stayed here, and hotel staff were quick to intervene.
The rooms have everything you'll need. Daily maid service, two bottles of drinking water, coffee and tea, in addition to unlimited filtered hot and cold water on each floor. The rooms are sufficiently large, although the inside rooms can seem a bit smaller without a window. The TV is modern and I was able to cast Netflix from my phone. The wifi is fast and reliable. There are self-serve laundry machines on each floor (100 baht to wash and 50 to dry). The gym is functional. Though small for what I'm use to, it gets the job done. If ur want something bigger, there's a Jett's gym right behind the hotel for 500 baht a day.
I'm happy to call this Hotel my new winter home. I will...
