While I don't like posting bad reviews, I have to give the good the bad, and the ugly.

In my mind, this place is a tourist trap through and through. For those thinking I'm a hater, refer to my other reviews on Thai establishments:-) (they're quite favorable). Old city Chiang Mai lacks a decent Vietnamese shop and this place will try and say they are (and charge exorbitant prices but it's nothing close. First of all, The food was not good...It wasn't Vietnamese nor was it Thai. Even worse, it gives tiny portions ( refer to pics).

I ate the food. It was below avg. I was hungry. I asked for the bill, but the prices did not match the menu I was given. I spoke with the owner and he said I was given an old menu ( turns out they have menus with 3 different prices) perhaps one for locals and one for foreigners and one they just completely forgot about due to negligence.

When the owner would not acknowledge the overpriced menu I was given, (he passed over responsibility saying it was the new girl working that gave me an “outdated” menu, but it was he who gave it to me. He didn't take ownership of the mistake and declared it was me who was the guilty party for acting out of line in Thailand. He suddenly pretended to speak very little English....

I said I wouldn't pay a single baht over what the original price was stated out of principle. At this point, it's not about money but honesty and respect. He refused so Then, there was a Thai customer or friend of the establishment who wanted to fight me for not agreeing to pay the higher price that I was given. He followed me on his motorbike and tried to provoke me to fight him. I, not wanting to go to Thai prison as I was outnumbered just smiled.

While I'm writing this review, I can honestly say the food was 1/5, the portion size was 1/5 and the service MINUS THEM trying to...

I was looking for a cool, calm, quiet spot away from the main tourist street in Chiang Mai to enjoy some fresh, delicious, healthy food. Baan Nintra offers exactly that. When I walked in, the restaurant was a bit hot, but they turned on the AC and it cooled down quickly. I ordered the lettuce roll with shrimp (210 baht) and a lemon soda (80 baht). The food was excellent and the drink was very refreshing - not too sweet. The prices seem a bit high for Thailand, but still quite reasonable for what you get: high-quality, fresh ingredients, prepared with skill, served in a stylish cafe with wifi and AC, without mobs of tourists. The portion size was generous - more than enough for one person. Some reviewers complained about a hidden surcharge - they did not charge me any unexpected fees. The bill was exactly as shown on the menu. I will definitely go back to try...

Wasted money... it used to be good when it started opening Today i had dinner with family from another province. We all were so dissapointed. The food took so long. We're gonna understand if u let us know. When we nearly finished and asked for the last dish. U served the uncooked ribs. We asked to return to the lady, she welcomed to service us at the same time the owner gossiped with freind that we're not enough patient for waiting and rush them to cook it. Never go this...

Came here twice during the month I was visiting Thailand. Nice outdoor seating with a view of the skater kids outside Three Kings. I ordered the Khao Soi (vegetarian - 75 THB) both times and enjoyed it! Prices are a bit higher on some items. The owners were very friendly to me and both times I had the restaurant to myself. Worth a try if you want a refreshing drink in a central spot.
