Mr.Kai and the staffs are very friendly, always smiling and helpful.

However the food itself... is the worst Thai food i have ever had. I have been to Thailand for more than 10 times, for personal and business purposes. In my hometown ( Taipei) also having some good ( and bad) Thai food, but this one definitely the worst one i had in my life.

The taste is like western style Chinese food, every fried dishes with thicken soup, which is totally unacceptable for "fried" style dishes. Pad Thai is another tragedy, the dried tofu is too sour, and the noodles, seems being contaminated by other food smells, also with MSG i guess, hard to explain what i tasted by word.

Im not sure why the rating is so high, but strongly recommend to people wanting real Thai food,...

Let us start with the good points: The waiter (and potential owner) was friendly and efficient.

Nevertheless, the main things you would consider when going to a restaurant are food and drinks. Unfortunately, the pineapple smoothie which I ordered was not tasty at all. Basically just water with a dubious flavor. Yes, 35THB for a smoothie is cheap so I should probably not expect too much - but go down the street pay 5 THB more and you get something much better.

The food (I had Basil Chicken) was also nothing special. Not particularly bad but still the worst Basil Chicken I have tried so far in the North.

Recommendation: Go to another venue down the street and get better...

An amazing experience from the very beginning. We were welcomed with a big smile and such a warm, genuine greeting — it truly made us feel at home. The service was friendly, caring, and made the whole meal feel personal and special.

The food was absolutely spectacular. Every dish was full of flavor and clearly prepared with love and attention. You can really taste the passion for Thai cuisine.

More than just great food, what really stands out is the human touch. We felt like more than just customers — we felt like guests. We’ll definitely recommend this place and would love to come back.

Thank you...

Mr Kai’s khao Soi was the first meal we had in Chiang Mai 4 years ago. We have never been able to find anyone who makes it as delicious and fragrant as Tony does. We are back in Chiang Mai and went back there tonight. Tony has added to the recipe and it is absolutely mouth watering. Tony is such a lovely, warm vibrant person and makes everyone feel welcome I would highly recommend going to Mr Kai for his food selection as it’s just divine and very well priced. The milk Thai Tea there is the best as well. Will be a frequent visitor there again while on holiday.

Convenient to go there (branch 2). Food is nice, we other red chilli fired rice with breef. And I would high recommended for the coconut soap with chicken. Vegetables is good but can even be better. Staff are friendly and polite. This restaurant is clean and without much decoration. With wifi support ( suprising support both 2G and 5G, first time I saw in Chiang mai ). Price is unexpected low. Also visited another branch 1, the location is not good but the environment is more relax. Btw, I saw this restaurant is also suggested by TripAdvisor and Ctrip
