Friend Coffee & Bar — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

The short guy with curly hair who is normally there in the morning has attitude problems (unless you're Thai), Ive now been there twice (gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time) for his negative attitude. The second time, i had brought in a drink of my own which was very visible to him when i walked in, but because i wanted to sit down inside, i respectfully tried to buy another drink from them, i was then told that i couldn't buy an soft drink from them (despite coke cans being visible in the fridge) and had to buy a coffee.

I brought my coffee (so that i could sit down), and upon paying and sitting down, he then later told me that i couldn't bring in my outside drink! he quite clearly saw it in my hands as i walked in, i even put it on the payment counter for him to see.

Worst thing is moments later i saw who was probably his friend walk in with her own juice drink which she proceeded to drink no problem!

Such a shame, the premises were nice and clean, good lighting, and clean toilets too....

I noticed the la marzocco machine through the window, and since I work professionally with espresso machines myself, I was curious to try the coffee. I even mentioned this to the barista and kindly asked him to put some care into the preparation, as I was hoping for a truly good cup. Unfortunately, he seemed rather uninterested.

The coffee itself was disappointing: it lacked body and was far too acidic. The grind size, beans, and machine settings did not seem to be well-matched. Sadly, I have had this experience quite often — the hype around expensive machines and specialty coffee cannot replace trained and genuinely...

The coffee was mediocre. The barista with curly hair was quite rude; I asked for less ice in my two coffees, but he slammed the cups down in front of me and walked away without any courtesy. Despite my request, the iced coffee was filled with an excessive amount of ice. Additionally, the cashier kept asking personal questions and was overly familiar with me, which I found disrespectful.
