Kobe King Japanese BBQ — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

An unfortunate update. Haven’t been to this place for a few months and was looking forward to re-visiting it. What a turnaround to the worse! From the best quality meat in Chiang Mai to the worst! From the average service to zero service quality. We ordered premium Kobe beef and were shocked to see what they brought: very poor quality meat that has zero resemblance to real Kobe wagyu. I don’t know if their purchasing department is cheating on the owners and pocketing the money or they’re just cheating customers, but the beef they serve definitely has nothing to do with wagyu, not even Grade 1 quality. Staff doesn’t remember your orders, takes 30 minutes from order to food, and generally seems to not care.

Top quality wagyu cuts, standard Japanese quality. Service however is much to be desired: the bbq handler doesn’t know how to properly handle coal, they put piles of it, so all that high quality meat just burns to ashes, need to ask them to remove coal for a proper yakiniku. We had a buffet when we visited. The restuarant offers manny variety of parts of meats. The atmosphere is cozy and meant to make you feel "classic" from the hand-made chachoal grilling pot. If you are beef eater, try "Ro-su", "Fammi", and "beef tounge". Grill them briefly on the chachoal and eat them with steamed rice or veggetable like the Korean style qould enhance the flavour. If you can drink alchohol, try their soju-mix drinks.They help refresh from feeling greasy from those meat fats!

The two drawbacks we found were time limit for buffet at 1 and a half hour, which made us have to rush through ordering those meats and eating them. Especially when paying 599 baht for the buffet, it would he nice if we can relax a ltittle bit more. Would be nice if it can be extended to 2 hours. Another problem is car parking. So disappointed of this restaurant, when we sit down didn't show us there's a buffet option, don't even show us the menu and after we order I found out they have buffet 😕 so ask if we can switch to buffet get refused for sure ,so we ended up order some 600bhat 200gram very very thin beef 😑😑😑 I just really upset why they don't show us there's a buffet option, don't even show the menu ,it's this some scam walk in tourists marketing?
