We stumbled upon this place by chance while walking beyond the old city walls on our way to the Riverview Restaurant (Amazing bar, an entirely different discussion on its own).
I remember being drawn in by store front, newly renovated, bright white paint, detailed wooden structures struck contrast and gave life to the entrance. The curvy displays marvelled all other restaurants near it. I took a picture and moved on, not thinking much of it at the time.
A few days passed by and the yearly lantern festival drew upon us. We immediately had the idea to visit a rooftop bar near all the action for the best views possible, and it so happened that MOTTO MOTTO HIDE LAND, rooftop bar was the closest rooftop to the Ping River, where all the fireworks, parades, street vendors and walks of all life gathered to witness and participate in the celebration of the the lantern festival.
As always, the staff were super kind and accommodating. Even though we didn't make reservations, they made sure we had one of the best seats in the house.
The food and drink were superb; They offered awesome Japanese styled dishes, sashimi's, rices, noodles and had a good selection of draft and craft beer to satisfy any palate. As most rooftops, the price is on the higher end so be weary of that, but in my opinion, total worth it in trade of the staff, the food, the drinks and the views!

Read moreThe bar has a really nice vibe and good views of the city but unfortunately we were too late to sit at a table on the edge to see the views properly (6pm on Monday). We asked a couple of times about moving when we saw free spaces but one time we were told the couple had just gone to smoke but they never came back and then they gave the seats to someone else.
We ordered drinks and food as soon as we arrived but we’d finished all our food by the time our drinks came (45 mins later). The drinks were lovely but ruined a bit by the long time they’d taken and we wanted them with our food. We asked after 30 mins in case they’d forgotten but were told they were just busy at the bar.
The grilled miso aubergine we ordered was delicious (but did take 30 mins to arrive) but the fried sausage was just a fried frankfurter which was disappointing. You can definitely get much better food for cheaper in Chiang Mai, although I think we also ordered badly as other food we saw being served looked good.
They did eventually move us to sit at the edge but by this point we’d finished our...
Read moreThis bar is such a vibe! ✨ From the cool interiors to the chill beats, everything just screams good energy. The place is literally IG worthy every corner is a photo spot waiting to happen. 📸
The cocktails? 10/10. 🍸 Not your basic drinks they’re seriously next level. Smooth, bold, and kinda addictive (in the best way). Pair that with the mood lighting and the playlist, and you’ve got the perfect spot to pre game or just kick back with the crew.
Honestly, it’s giving main character energy. 🖤 If you’re looking for somewhere to hang, laugh, and just soak up the city vibes, this spot hits different. Definitely a go to for good drinks, good vibes, and...
