Opened since 1971, this place is AMAZING. The food’s really unique. My American husband wouldn’t stop talking about it for 2 days. We were taken there by our family friends and we ordered like over 20 dishes for 6 adults. I want to promote this place because we saw many foreigners reading the menu in front of the restaurant and walking away…maybe just because they didn’t know what to order. Their fried “man-tow” buns are really good and can be paired with their crispy pork belly slices and their fried cheese or “nom-tod” in Thai. Try their “fried rice with Tua-Nao” ข้าวผัดถั่วเน่า or fried rice with Northern-style “natto”. You can mix this fried rice with other dishes when u eat like with the pork belly slices. If you're a vegetarian who isn't too picky about what utensils they cook meals in, then...
Read moreThoroughly enjoyed the dishes we tried at this Yunnanese restaurant that friends tell me is long-established and somewhat unique in Chiang Mai. Chicken and cucumber salad is light and fresh, fried pork ribs with ginger and spring onion has great flavor, the fried shitakes are super satisfying, the pork belly with pickled vegetables was surprisingly sweet and rich with a chutney-like flavor, the pumpkin shoots were perfectly cooked and the fried bread was great to soak up all the juices. A really nice change of flavors and a surprisingly large menu. It was hard to choose so we'll be going back...
