The first day we arrived in Chiangmai for the first time, we were hungry and on our way to find a place for food, we walked by a temple and decided to get inside. We found the temple peaceful and beautiful. A huge “smiley” Buddha was there aligned with "happiness". Suddenly a person said hello to us and I stared making lots of questions with my daughter to him. We are into music and shamanism and were curious about the elements and about sounds among other things. At that time, we totally forgot about food. He gave us the answers we were looking for, and told us that he mastered the gongs technique he learnt during 7 years. Later he invited us for a "Mindfulness Gong Bath Thai Meditation", taking part some days after. We decided to go to the session and it was an amazing experience. Actually we were impressed because master Vee, took his time to talk with us with humbleness, and in any moment tried to convince us to get into the Buddhist practices and he never tried to manifest that the buddism was the “only way”; thing that I notice many times with other “practises" We are very happy we met Master Vee and received some of his incredible gifs:) 🙏🏼

“Wat Tung Yu: A Hidden Gem for Buddhist Learning” Wat Tung Yu is not just a beautiful temple but also a hub for spiritual growth and learning. What makes this temple truly special is the Chiang Mai Buddhist Study Community, which offers free classes and lectures for anyone interested in exploring Buddhism. These sessions are open to the public, and I highly recommend attending them to experience the teachings firsthand. The temple itself is serene and welcoming, with stunning traditional architecture that reflects the rich heritage of Chiang Mai. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal place for reflection and study. Whether you are a local resident or a visitor, Wat Tung Yu provides an opportunity to deepen your understanding of Buddhist philosophy in a supportive and open environment. Don’t miss the chance to attend one of the free sessions – it’s a unique and enriching experience!

Really beautiful temple with meditation and educational offerings! I walked in one morning and was greeted by Vee, a Buddhist volunteer, who is extremely friendly and knowledgable. There is a mindfulness corner within the temple which he invited me to and provided a brief explanation on Buddhism and guided me and my friend through sitting meditation and walking meditation. This temple also has a classroom with educational sessions every Sun, Wed and Sat on Buddhism with David, called Daily Wisdom. Vee also provides guided sessions on Gong bath meditation, which is an amazing meditative experience and I highly recommend it. You can walk into the temple anytime and use the mindfulness corner to ask questions and practice meditation. I'm grateful to have come across this temple.
