Patongo Ko Neng (Praisanee Road Branch) — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

I used to really enjoy this place. I first tried their congee and patonggo about 5 or 6 years ago, and it was excellent back then. Unfortunately, my recent visit was quite disappointing. The congee wasn’t hot and lacked the flavour I remembered. Service also left a lot to be desired. I was given fewer patonggo than I ordered, and when I politely mentioned it, the response was rather blunt — something along the lines of, “Yes, I know, but it’s not ready,” which came across a bit sharp. She also didn’t seem too happy when customers asked for additional food or drinks. To be fair, it was a busy morning, but it felt like the staff were struggling to keep up. AVOID!! FYI, they have different menus for foreigners at different prices!!! After living in Chiang Mai for over two months, this is my first negative experience!! Here's the thing, when we sat down, the waitress gave me the menu, a Thai menu, as I could understand Thai, I wrote down my orders in Thai as well. BUT when we checked out, I realized that price did NOT match, so I was trying to ask for the reason, then waitress quickly HID the Thai menu, but I took it from the basket, together with the Chinese-English-Thai menu, I went for an explanation, the cashier answered firmly"This is for Thai, not for foreigners"!!! Local funny shape patonggoh it maybe slow because cnx is a slow-life city so please be patient.Aunties are actually nice na but they don’t know how to react when the seat are full. You can just jump in and sit with somebody else I guess. I went there on the week day ,Wednesday 7am not crowded. If you want it hot from the stove it will be 10 times delicious(but also take a longgggg time to shape and deep fry 😂) so please considering.
