Short Review:
See You Soon was just around from the corner from our hotel. From the moment I stepped in we were made to feel very welcome. The atmosphere is very calming, which is nice when Chiang Mai can be so loud and crazy.
Food is great, large portions and made fresh to order. Drinks are really good too. We had everything from English breakfast tea, Gin Tonics to smoothies. All were good value and super tasty.
Staff are all lovey and attentive, very good at putting up with stoned tourists!
The shop and dispensary are stocked with loads of nice clothes, bags, jewellery and of course different strains of weed.
Can’t recommend this place enough as a base for your stay in Chiang Mai.
Long review:
I had come to ask information on the cannabis culture, laws etc at the dispensary (Stone CNX) connected to See You Soon. Being a tourist I wanted to learn about the laws and culture surrounding cannabis before buying anything as I was a bit nervous.
I was made to feel so welcome that before I knew it I was sat down with a gram of weed and a BANGING banana & mango smoothie. The weed was exactly what I wanted (mellow and low thc) thanks to Ball who guided me through the process. He helped me to understand the rules and culture of the recent legalisation which made me feel more at ease with enjoying weed on holiday.
They had inexpensive, bio-degradable hemp grinders which was cool and I had everything I needed (Weed/grinder/lighter/rolling papers/joint holder) all for a very reasonable price.
Pretty classically I walked out without paying. But when I came back in to settle the bill the owners had a laugh with me, told me it was fine and that I was welcome to use the cafe as a base while in Chiang Mai.
Which is exactly what we did. Drinks in the morning and afternoon pretty much everyday and brunch on occasion. On our last day which happened to be my birthday we came in for some drinks and a spliff. All of the staff and owners came out and sang happy birthday to me and presented me with a birthday gift.
Never been made to feel so comfortable while on holiday and cannot thank everyone enough for making our stay so relaxing.
Come and enjoy this place, they deserve...
Read more2 stars as it's open earlier than a lot of other places. They don't have lots of veggie/vegan options. The menu is also all other the place (they had 3-4 different menu styles on the same clipboard in a random order). The server we had was a bit awkward when taking our order. I ordered a latte with soy milk. He came back after ordering and let me know soy milk was 50baht extra! I said sure, fine. When I got the receipt after paying it was 60baht. Even though it's only 10baht, every other place I have ordered coffee from charged 50baht or less (usually 30baht). When the coffee itself is 80baht... This almost doubled the price. I would prefer them to not offer soy milk. If he told me 60baht I would have told him to change it to an americano. Ordered a smoothie which was more like fruit juice with lots of crushed ice. Ordered an avocado sandwich which came deconstructed. The avocado was fine but the bread wasn't amazing. Had to get our hands in there to put it the sandwich filling together. Server also brought a fan over to us when we were eating even though it was 7.45am and a cool morning even though we didn't ask for one. This would have been great on a hot day or if we were even sweating/fanning ourselves (but we weren't). We left as it was cold! We would have stayed around and turned it off/told the server to turn it off, if we had a better experience.
Unfortunately for us this was the worst place we had eaten in Chiang Mai over 2.5 weeks (and also one of the most expensive) and also the last place we had eaten! The vibe looked chill when we walked past this place earlier on, there were a few people there and someone smoking weed, was very cool. Unfortunately the service we had wasn't the greatest. And my coffee was also the worst one I had had in Chiang Mai. I figure that is because we were the first customers there and they hadn't dialled in their shots but given the quality of everything else we...
Read moreA stylish hotel with beautiful decorated rooms. Situated in an charming wooden lanna style house, unfortunately not very soundproof. You can look through the cracks in the wooden floor into the restaurant below the room. A very popular restaurant, you hear chairs scratching the floor, loud customers and waiters and kitchen noises (icecrusher and coffeemachine grinder) the room all day, loud and clear. If you close your eyes you would think you were in a cheap room at Khaosan Road. On top of that you also hear heavy traffic and other street noises from early morning until late at night. Our room (King 5) was on the corner of a busy crossing. This I could have known if I just had checked google maps before booking. |This hotel is totally not what we expected after reading the reviews and the high score on booking.com. I can’t believe we’re the only one with the same complaints. Though the complementary earplugs were very welcome.||*The restaurant is open untill 23:00, at 7:00 you’ll wake up from the breakfast preparations noises. Speaking of breakfast, we got a takeaway breakfast because we had to checkout early. Ham and cheese sandwiches made with dry bread and some prefab orange juice. Really poor for a hotel of...
