Manee House — Hotel in Chiang Mai Province

Rainbow - the manager of the hotel - is a great person, she helped me with everything from the very beginning and since I stayed a few days during this time we became close friends. The hotel is very cosy and has a great atmosphere, I dare say everyone feels welcome here. You don't have to worry about cleanliness, everything is absolutely fine in this respect as well. I hadn't planned my trip in detail, but Rainbow recommended a lot of trips and things to do that would be worthwhile and even helped me to organize them. Her son was also available and drove me where I wanted to go when I needed to go. Rainbow speaks great English and French which is sometimes a problem to communicate with someone in Thailand. The Manee Guesthouse is excellently located in the old town of Chiang Mai. On the end of a street, so not crammed between a bunch of places. Easy walk to and from plenty of places around. The night time security guard is an absolute crack up and the rest of the staff are nice as well :) I love the spacious, outdoor front area they have downstairs for a nice people watching sit. The downstairs offers free tea and instant coffee, otherwise well priced breakfast and drinks. There is also a very friendly, helpful travel agent right at the front door and an awesome handmade pizzeria just next door. In terms of the rooms, they were average. Clean, offered air con and fan, decent bathroom with a window view. Downstairs also had a pool, which is always a nice addition. Overall, good value, I wouldn't consider going...

We really enjoyed staying here so much we kept extending our stay. The rooms are clean and spacious. The beds comfortable and the bathrooms are good. The shower does not soak the entire room and has a curtain around it!||||The pool is really clean as are the rooms and the cleaning staff are lovely, always a smile and a nod.||||The only negative about this place is the reception staff.. there was one in particular which I felt was doing us a personal favour by letting us stay there! She was very unfriendly and a bit rude. Don't think it was a language barrier as some days she could be nice.. so that was a pity. ||||All in all...
