A nice place. Popular and I see it has a lot of positive reviews. But my experience was that I went there because one favorite coffee shops were closed. At noon on a Sunday. I just wanted coffee and something small to eat. I saw egg mayonnaise baguette at the top of their menu so I ordered that and black coffee, keeping it simple. I had this impression it would be a chopped up or scrambled egg with mayonnaise. But NO! It was a mayonnaise sandwich. With bits of egg. Who in the world would eat this stuff? Do English people eat a baguette with a jar of mayonnaise and some pieces of egg? I spooned off a lot of the mayo and spooned up some of the egg and ate the baguette because I don't like to waste food. Or my time. But if you go there Do Not Order the Egg with Mayo Baguette. Unless that is what you like to eat. The place was rather noisy for a Sunday, with a lot of people in couples and family groups - which tells you it is popular. I am sure the regular normal food there is good. Wow! the owner really took my comments to heart. He says if the chef used too much mayo he apologizes and also that they follow the recipe for egg mayo that is on Google. So? I guess that means it is all my fault. I said the place is popular and I am sure they serve mostly good-tasting food. And if you, the reader, relate to a sandwich that is mostly mayo and a little bit of egg then you can find it at the Archer. I will go back to the...
Read moreFANTASIC !!!! My self and wifes second trip to thialand and 1st to chiangmai, came across this lovely bar and restaurant by chance. What a lovely oasis from the hustle and bustle. Lovely decor with vines and flowers to entrance, when you step in your welcomed by husband /wife thia and English, If you looking for good thia food AND a break from it THIS IS THE PLACE. All the usual good thia food but A real English menu including ....a fantastic real Sunday roast if you need a welcome break with a taste from home, They also have quiz nights, which is good place to meet nice fellow English speaking. This bar is not a chain so they make sure you get a good pint, which a REAL draft beers was a very welcome, And another thing my wife found a god send was toilets, if you been to thialand before you will know Not all bars restaurants have them, and if they do there normally a back room. Well just beyond there quaint beer garden to the rear there it is.....a proper separate male female clean loo. And that's it.....nope it's not. The owners are delightful and friendly and great sauce of information. It's why we returned to this great little place several times. Well done Archers bar.

Read moreSan Miguel on draft? Say no more. Good food. Nice place. Ed: I am most sorry about editing this review. I returned with friends on Sunday for a late breakfast. What a disaster! My friend and I were served our food. My friend's Thai wife was never served her Thai food! We finished our food and waited an additional 30 minutes. We checked with the kitchen several times. The order was never started! Some nonsense about a computer problem? Seriously? There were more people working at the place than there were customers. It had to seem obvious to someone that two big farang guys were finished eating for some time and the petite Thai woman had nothing to eat. We finally left and had to find her something to eat since her order was never started. It turns out another friend on mine was in front of the place. He waited 40 minutes for his order and it finally arrived stone cold! Someone needs to watch what goes on there. These kind of scenarios are really I excusable in such a small place, not to mention the fact that no one apologized. They made excuses and did nothing to fix the situation. I look forward to my next visit to Chiang Mai, but unfortunately I will have to avoid...
