Small restaurant, expensive, low quality Indian food. Butter naans were soaked in oil. Biryani had 5 tiny pieces (1-2 cm) of chicken! Couldn’t tell the difference between fish curry and lamb roghan josh, which looked almost identical and tasted about the same. Samosas were super dry from the inside. Grilled fish and grilled chicken were decent. Dal tadka was good. Plain naan was much better than butter naan. I eat very hot food, but the medium spice level here was kind of hot. Not for traveler on Budget Craving for Indian food in Phuket led me to this fancy restaurant. It’s a decent looking place but super expensive. I’ve been to couple of expensive restaurants mostly to those serving Indian menu. I must say they are worth the price. But this particular restaurant isn’t worth if you are on a tight budget. They prices aren't updated on their facebook page so it might hit you hard once you’re done with your meal. This restaurant isn't designed for travelers on budget rather for those who are wealthy. Deepawali is a fantastic Indian restaurant located just outside the Laguna complex. Our family thoroughly enjoy returning for the Indian cuisine every year we come to Phuket and will visit often during our stay. The restaurant is only small, with outside and inside tables so be sure to book if visiting in peak periods. The lovely waitress has been looking after us for years and always remembers our family and even our favourite dishes and sauces. Highly recommend the onion bhaji, chicken Tikka and the chicken shish kebab curry. We have never had a bad meal in 5 years, always top notch. Thank you very much, see you again...
